It’s an OK deal for both parties, I would say, and a huge upgrade on top. You did well!

You could have bought a new 4060 for 290-300$. Less consumption, advanced tech and 2 year warranty.
If you were short on the budget its ok!
dukeofducttape
Relative peformance puts the 2080 about on par with nvidia RTX 4060 (cheapest in US right now $285) and AMD RX 7600XT ($320). I’d say it’s not exactly a steal since it’s used and 2 gens old, but it’s certainly not a waste and probably a good deal performance per dollar. I’m not sure about the blower coolers though, I’ve never had great results from them, but never had a 20 series card either so YMMV.

You could’ve added 50 more for a more recent, unused 3060.
Then again, the 2080 is faster than the 3060, so this is a decent deal.

Nice. When I night my PC I bought my friends old 2080 for $150. It’s a solid card
TheRealKingDoggo
yes it was a very good deal, anyone here that says otherwise is just trying to be different
ApprehensiveAd6476
Eh, not bad but not good either.
Gh051_hehe
Good deal given it wasn’t used too heavily or for mining & repasting thermal paste may give you a decent boost

If you’re worried about getting a good deal, you should ask your question *before* buying instead of looking for validation after the fact.
You got a bad deal unfortunately. I would try to sell that card and get an RX 6650 XT instead. That card typically goes for $230 new, and you also get a warranty, something that isn’t used, and new AMD cards typically come with one or two free games on top of it depending on when you buy. The 6650 XT’s performance is pretty close to the 2080’s, so you’re not really losing anything in that department either.
*Edit: Downvote brigaders are fucking idiots and don’t know what they’re talking about.*
2080 still a good gpu. And for 200? Not a steal. But id say a good bargain.

Maybe ask the question before you blow your wad?

Decent card decent deal on both ends

Doesn’t the 1080ti have 11GB vram? I guess the only fallback is no rtx
WhiteCisRadDude4Real
I spent 140 on a 2070 super, you did well my friend. No sense spending double for the same performance if you don’t care about ray tracing

Don’t let people rain on your parade. If you’re happy with it then that’s all that matters. It’ll be a huge upgrade over the integrated graphics you were on before.
Jernigan007
waaaaay better than what you had !
Diy_Papi
If it was a TI for sure , but still not a bad buy.

there are definitely worse ways to spend 200$ enjoy a big upgrade! i think the blowers look cleann
No_Print77
Yes and it’s a huge upgrade from your current graphics
Harrisoning
I paid $250 for a blower style 3070 and 245 for a blower style 2080ti recently so I’d say you did alright!
BassAdict
Yeah, I’d say you got a pretty decent deal, I also have a 2080 and it runs pretty much everything I throw at it. I recommend you repaste it since these blower cards can run pretty hot.
Anyway, just enjoy it. Don’t take other people’s opinions seriously, It should be a night and day difference from what you had before
NoBig4019
I’m disappointed cuz I have a 2080 super. I got it when it was new. I am getting the 5090 when it drops + i9 14900k
