I can’t WAIT for the real-time global multiplayer in Light No Fire! It’ll be so cool being able to meet up with people in specific locations in the huge expansive world of Light No Fire!

He started it.

I should mention that I am talking about the mental gymnastics these guys are pulling not remember that Sean was the one directly lying to people about what would be in the game.
Edit: Guess theyre in this post too. Y’all trying to rewrite history

Gaslighting or setting expectations.
TitaniumGoldAlloyMan
You better tell Sean to not lie. That guy can’t talk the truth.

This is the cycle of all unreleased games. Every game is better than anything before it until it releases. Then people shit on the game they praised and thought infallible only a few weeks before.
nerogenesis
We didn’t have wild expectations, he definitely lied about what would be there on launch. While these were later added in, many promised features were not.
TwistedDragon33
I mean.. Sean has made some pretty lofty statements. But everyone needs to remember he is a liar and nothing he says should be considered true until you see it with your own eyes.

Internet Historian’s video on No Man’s Sky was pretty eye opening. I honestly believe that Hello Games was just really ambitious with what they thought they could do in the time they had and it just didn’t pan out.
Plus people were sending death threats every time they delayed, so there’s that.

The first trailers and the game looked equally boring, and the worm would not have changed that! I bought it when the NEXT update came out. Sadly it still gets pretty boring real fast. Missions are not really supergreat but for everyone buying it right now after all the updates, its for sure worth the $.

“Make up wild theories” THE MONTH BEFORE he was on tv talking about multiplayer. He painted a vivid picture of it. The game launched as a single player experience.
Spider-Man2099
At least No Man’s Sky became what he said and more down the line.
Now the original Fable on the other hand! Peter Molyneux made up so much shit that never was gonna be in the game and much of it that wasn’t in any of the sequels either.
ACorania
He did make promises he didn’t deliver on. Seems appropriate for starfield though.

I recommend Internet Historian’s video on no man’s sky, if you’re interested in the whole Sean controversy.
JodoKast87
Isn’t this meme at least 5 years old??? And the funny thing is that it was originally about multiplayer being in No Man’s Sky and now there IS multiplayer in No Man’s Sky, so…???
Is there a new No Man’s Sky drama going on?
AgentFour
Need this for all the 2077 haters.
NoShine101
No way this has become the narrative….
BoreusSimius
Make up stories? He literally said a whole bunch of blatant lies about what would be in the game in filmed interviews.
The only gaslighting that seems to be going on here is from OP.
