We really gotta break some of these military industrial complex corps up. This shit is getting out of hand.

Wrong companies on the bottom. Try Apple, Amazon, and Google.

Lockheed Martin has a net worth of 103 billion. Apple has a net worth of 1.8 TRILLION. And they’re not the wealthiest company on that list.

  3. Okrumbles

Lockheed’s networth is only 100 billion,

    Apple’s is in the trillions.

Maybe Johnny had a point with those nukes /s /s

Militech is cannonically the merger of all us weapons manufacturers. Arasaka is a lot closer to Samsung, which I’m pretty sure does actually have its toes dipped in weapons manufacturing somewhere, they do basically everything.

Lockheed Martin is a Small fry compared to Amazon imo

  7. Wrong the closest rn is Samsung. They’re so much like Arasaka that its scary.

They can do whatever they want, as long as I get my gorilla arms.

McDonnell Douglas is no longer a thing. They’re Boeing now.

I just wish they had cooler names. Like if we have to go down this route I want my cyberware and I want my villains to be interesting.

I don’t know how it works in other countries, but in the U.S. at least, all the really powerful corporations are merely fronts for the security state.

Whereas in the Cyberpunk timeline the security state and most of the regular government collapsed and never really recovered, which allowed the corps to fill in the resulting power vacuum and to do a lot of things that they wouldn’t otherwise have been able to do.

I actually didn’t believe it for a moment, but yes, there is an “Alien” reference in this meme.

It’s a real smooth brained take to assume that it’s only the defense contractors are going to be megacorps, especially when companies like Google and Apple are acting like that now.

They already are. They dictate market trends. Have senators and congressmen actively investing in their stock or are on their corporate board of directors. Lobby politicians for exclusive bills. Influence the directions of wars and conflicts. Routinely get billions in DOD contracts. Mind you the DOD has not been able to pass an audit of its expenses in quite some time.
