So I’ve been getting these weird things in my chrome for like the past 6-12 months, I don’t remember exactly when it started, and I am worried my gpu is dying. Anyone who knows what’s going on?

    Been seeing a lot of these post recently.

    The resolution to this problem “no pun intended” is to stop using chromium immediately it antiquated as fuck in 2024.

    Do yourself a favor today and become a Mozilla Firefox user!

    If it’s a Chromium based browser and using a Nvidia gpu, one possible workaround:

    For Google Chrome: Enter chrome://flags/ in the browser address bar and search for: “Choose ANGLE graphics backend”. Change it from default to OpenGL. Restart Chrome.

    I started getting this in Edge a few months ago too (Chromium based)

    I found another old post about this and can confirm it’s a Chrome related issue, your GPU is fine

    No i get those aswell in brave and steam. Its probably a driver issue dont worry. As long as u dont see artifacts when gaming at 100% gpu utilization you’re fine!

    Try GPU stress-testing tools like MSI Kombustor or Furmark.

    in all seriousness though if it’s only in chrome it’s probably a chrome problem

    Known issue with Chromium, toggling hardware acceleration may help

    Does it only happen in once piece of software?
    Yes -> Mostly likely a software issue
    No -> Possible hardware issue

    If it only happens in chrome your GPU is fine, chrome on your PC isn’t tho

    It’s a bug in Windows with nVidia GPUs. Fixed in the insider build, will eventually roll out.

    Hardware acceleration was causing this for me. Turned it off and was good to go

    This is an issue with Nvidia’s driver. Everyone is getting this. You’re good.

    Either that, or your machine is possessed by the ghost of TomSka. I mean, he’s not dead, but I don’t see why that should stop him.
