The A9 wasn’t Ryzen-branded, iirc that was a member of Kavari (28nm) CPUs that were allowed to work on modern boards/sockets so that AMD had something to offer users as the industry went into DDR4 while Gen1 Ryzen still didn’t really have a mobile or ultra-budget presence

Time to get into retro gaming or play games with low motion.

The amazing thing is that people used to play text adventures.

I hate a case nitro 5 with a ryzen 5 in it, it was worse than most chromebooks and I hated it, it had a ryzen 2500u, it was shit

Who says its good lol? A quick Google search would prove otherwise

you at least gad a Lenovo with your A9

mine came in an HP (🤮🤮🤮)
box said it had “performance for everyday tasks”. It can’t even open Libreoffice without taking at least 30 seconds

you mean AMD Athlon* A9? cause my Legion 5’s Ryzen 5 4600H fucking rips

A literal Core 2 Duo is more powerful than a Steamroller/Excavator APU

This is why we do the research on devices and their specs before we buy. I bought a chromebook with an A9 for college and quickly learned the same lesson. That rabbit hole is what brought me to the whole PC building culture

It’s not a Ryzen. That being said, my Ryzen 5600h works wonders for a laptop. Honestly debate whether I really wanna upgrade to a desktop 7600x some days.

(I will be upgrading but still, that 5600h does well for its age and power)

Pre-Ryzen AMD CPUs are notoriously and infamously bad.

Had the same experience with an all in one when i didn’t know much about pcs, i don’t understand why they advertise those for “gaming” anyway

Meanwhile I can manage 500FPS on 16k resolution no problem

    Dawg. You’re using ancient hardware.

Dude, I just got a used Lenovo workstation for under $100 on eBay and it performs better than that. Though granted, I didn’t get it for gaming but for work… but I couldn’t resist running some benchmnarks and test games on it when setting it up just to see how it runs.

  15. And that’s why you always get the best – always get Intel /Nvidia😉

Iirc I had an A6 in my old Lenovo I stole from the scrapyard and with a ram and ssd upgrade it was actually usable (until windows update started). Too bad it died shortly after. I liked it, the keyboard was really good, not to mention it was my very first laptop, got it just shortly after I bought a PC

ur fucking stupid that is user error

Can you provide a model name for the laptop?

A9 isnt Ryzen , its a FAR older AMD APU. Somewhere along the age before Ryzen, when AMD was legit terrible and their only benefit was : “Well we are much cheaper.”

Pair that with their “meh ” iGPU and you get that low performance. My First PC ever was a laptop from that age: Vision x4 (athlon mobile) and an HD6470m , literally 1/6th as fast as the steamdeck barely eeking out 30 FPS 720p

All 4 of its cores are not even a single Ryzen core in the steamdeck

bro A9 was like a decade old processor that existed before ryzen, it was a laptop processor that wasn’t even top tier, there was also a10 and a12 and they were all shit, you seriously got a bad deal bro.
