This was one of the most horrible levels for me back then. I could never get past the second ramp, for a long jump, even though it looks like I should’ve been able to land on the next platform. THEN I discovered I had to press the right direction button on that second ramp and I finally can land on the platform properly. Everything else after that was quite easy after a few tries but that second ramp really stopped me from making progress for decades. I just finished the entire level for the first time in this clip lol!

I knew how to do it at the time and still couldn’t do it consistently
The annoying this is graphically you often make it but it doesn’t work, even when pressing right like you said
PMC-I3181OS387l5
and then you have TheMexicanRunner beating this level blindfolded :p
Sivitiri
Its kind of a shame the remade version shortened this level drastically

I legitimately enjoyed the game but I could never get past this part. The first two levels were fun though. What an awful level 3 was, just a huge roadblock for a lot of people.
Electrical-Hall5437
Also trying to get the warp that’s on the most difficult section
mitraheads
Epilepsy killer stage.

It’s funny looking back, because I’ve beaten this game as a kid, and this was like the first really challenging part and most people never got past it. Like the snake pit and other levels are so much worse than you could imagine.
The_Big_Peck_1984
I feel your pain. I remember getting my parents to get me one game for my Super Nintendo and I chose this one. I remember finally beating this level, but not making it much further into the game. It was so hard!
Mannagen
This level was made to be a quarter sink at the arcades.
DragonSpikez
Brings back childhood memories of resetting and starting the game over once I got to this stage.

That second ramp was the bane of my existence. Thought I was losing my mind, then realized I had to hit right. Game changer!
helladope89
Equally frustrating as a kid playing the battletoads vs double dragon version of this level
TacticalTobi
what is this shovelware lmao
KingXeiros
I’ll be honest, I have no idea if I ever beat this level. I just know the levels of frustration caused some controller throwing episodes.
AFM420
The snake level was insane levels of difficulty.
squeezy102
Oh man I knew a kid in the next town over that could beat this level every time and never die.
You wouldn’t know him, he goes to a different school.
mikeumm
I’ve never seen level 4. Turbo tunnel was the end of the game for me lol.
ASilver76
This level alone justified the existence of the Game Genie.
Rufioh_8
I still don’t know what’s the level after this one
TrineoDeMuerto
This and the snake level were my favorites. Classic “get good” Nintendo.

From the days before controllers broke on impact with the wall…
fenikz13
I just didn’t understand how I was missing the entire island on landing
TPL531
Reminds of zaxxon
-Nyarlabrotep-
A really well-designed game with great graphics and controls, but with the difficulty turned up so high it was nearly impossible to complete.
TheAlienFake
My cousin used to disassemble the SNES controller just to make it more sensible to the touch and try to beat Battletoads.
Mannginger
The satisfaction of finally finishing them though!
