We are truly living in the age of retro-nostalgic inflation.
Anyway, if it’s complete in box, and you happen to be a big ol’ Zelda fan… may as well take the plunge, unless you gotta sell a kidney or something.

Yes.
If you actually want to play the game just emulate it.
Only way that this purchase would even be slightly justified is if you were a collector.

Whyd you let them do this to you, dawg?
echoess84
I guess so, anyway Minish Cap is also on NSO so you can play it on Switch

A tad, but I want it. I remember buying it at the store on a sunny summer day and sitting down on the city square to open it up in excitement. I sold it several years later like an idiot. Great game, but too short!

Unless that is factory sealed, yes

Way too much.

The only thing I see is that sticker on the cardboard D:
Dragonfire14
It’s on the GBA emulator on the switch.
UngodDeimos
I’m not a collector so to me this is a hard no. If you just wanna play it, emulate it for free. If you are a collector and must have a physical copy, still no. Buy food, save that money for stuff you need.

Fuck outta here. .
Xeadriel
Definitely. Id pay 10 for it

I remember buying this for 1/4th of the price – about 15 years ago
funthebunison
Absolutely. It’s one of the easiest games to emulate out there.

After a certain point, it’s too much yeah.

For that price u might as well buy a switch and play it that way but if your collecting that’s another story

€160 is actually roughly the local going rate for boxed with manual… But I mean we’re talking MINT. That example is not mint, not nearly. I’d expect to pay something around €80-85 if the cartridge is in bag and the manual and all original paperwork is untouched and factory new.
Any inside wear and tear and I’d debate even paying 50.

I know I’m in the minority here, but Minish cap is my all-time favorite Zelda game. I know it’s not the largest or most expensive with mechanics, but playing it as a kid, it really felt like I was going on an adventure and could see the world that was hidden from everyone else. 10/10.
Go ahead and emulate it, but having a physical copy is always a plus in my book.

Unsealed with box damage for 160. Take that 160 and start bootlegging gba carts. Then setup a lemonade stand out in front of that store where every lemonade comes with a free copy of Zelda for gba.

I see some people trying to justify it for collectors, but I personally see at least two things that will immediately devalue it, one has already been pointed out: price sticker on a cardboard box. Big no-no, specially these cheap bastard price tags.
Second is that it’s not kept inside a plastic bag. Cardboard is porous, it’s quite neglectful to keep something that you’re selling as a collectible made of a porous material like that where anyone can reach out and grab it with dirty/sweaty hands (this is how white plushies kept outside bags get that “dirty” look, since they’re white you can more easily see that it’s been passed around a lot and needs washing).
There’s also two other things at least to consider when pricing a GB game, outside of the condition of the box and the cartridge: Manual and interior. By interior I mean the little cardboard structure that holds the game in place. Not having it will lower the value. Same with lack of manual, or manual in bad conditions. Those two missing variables also count.
One other thing I’d take into consideration is if it’s displayed close to a window that gets direct sunlight. The sunlight will absolutely murder colours. I still remember this shop that put an Amiga displayed by the window. Poor thing reached levels of yellowing I didn’t think possible.
I can’t give you a price gauge because I haven’t dealt with retro gaming since 2015, so my pricing would be way off. But I’d consider those things and compare with as many online retailers as you can find that you know don’t sell counterfeits.
