    All in all it’s a very simple mod. Placing a resistance between ground and pin 6 of the memory voltage controller spoofs a lower voltage than the controller is actually producing, causing it to compensate with a higher output voltage. Less resistance = more output voltage.

    Buildzoid recommended either a 40k or 100k resistor to achieve these higher voltages. Since I have lots of miscellaneous electronic parts lying around, I cobbled together a 100k potentiometer and a 47k resistor in series for an effective range of 47k – 147k ohms.

    Not well pictured here is a mistake that I made in configuring my external monitoring wires. For some reason I had it in my head that I could simply run the same two lines, those going to pin 6 of the voltage controller and to ground, back to the meter to measure my memory voltage. Of course, the whole basis of this mod is that the memory voltage controller will make any adjustments necessary to keep a constant voltage on pin six, so there’s really nothing worth monitoring there. Realizing this, I ran a third wire from the positive leg of the memory VRM capacitor to my volt meter, and that seems to be working just fine. 1.6v base is a little more than I had expected (I had read default is 1.5,) but perhaps the 147k I had going to ground was enough to boost the voltage 100mV.
