Is driving an sports car on square wheels better than driving square with sports car wheels?

I upgrade every 4-5 years and always go mid range with 1080p 144hz in mind. After a certain point spending an extra $100 on a card that only gives me 20 fps more doesnt seem worth it. That also leaves extra budget for extras like a BenQ 144hz monitor.

I just find it funny when people rock those 150$ + 100$ keyboard/mouse combos just to get steamrolled by some russian kid playing with their 20 headset+kb+mouse combo.

Is this coming from a standpoint of one of those mechanical kb sommeliers, drooling at the sound of a keystroke?

My computer that’s a mix-and-match mess of parts from my old and new builds, used GPUs, as well as niche stuff like RAID and sound cards:
That’s wild. Maybe they will upgrade the rest soon

I see more of the opposite tbh, mfs running a 1650 super build with a 200$ keyboard or smth

God I upgraded my monitor and keyboard this weekend and it feel like I got a new PC with the same frame rates.
If I could go back in time and unbuy every “gamer” branded keyboard i’ve bought in the past I would. r/MechanicalKeyboards

to be fair,

not having the latest and greatest isn’t bad. You just have to adjust your games settings accordingly. If you can’t afford a high end pc you can’t afford it. Not the end of the world

I’m using a 20 years old keyboard.
No modern fancy keyboard from friends lasted longer than maybe two years.
Worn out keycaps all over the place.

God I hate when people use “battlestation” to describe their gaming PC. It’s a fucking computer my dude.

I’ve finally almost finished upgrading my PC after years but for a long time my perifials were way better then what I had in my PC I would rather be able to get kills in a game then have nice shiny graphics.

Monitor, keyboard and mouse is very important for me, i would prefer a weaker pc than weaker monitor.
