I don’t know if I have ever been so disappointed in a game that I really REALLy did hope would deliver on so many levels. It had every potential to be the game of the decade. Everything was initially right in this game. Trailer, gameplay, style, art, I mean if you did it 💩 your pants seeing this, then you ain’t human.
Here is a trailer (2018) on what could have been. Still gives me chills…
And this one just makes me wanna cry tears of joy
Ahhhh… 😭 what could have been 😔

Sad that EA was doing it
Well…
Edit: didn’t 💩your pants 😅
To hell with this trash game. They shelved mass effect for this shit
It should have bankrupted their asses for that stunt
I mean, it’s EA. Honestly, what did you expect?…
> if you did it 💩 your pants seeing this, then you ain’t human.
I ain’t human.
You’re admitting that you’ve 💩 your pants over a video game, OP?
It doesn’t get any better with time. I’m still not over the cancellation of Starcraft: Ghost.
I mean, the trailer does look nice, but it’s hard for me to get too excited about games like this because I have a low-end computer and that isn’t changing any time soon.
Ya, this is my #2 disappointment of all games. The ONLY reason it isn’t my #1 is because I canceled my preorder after I played the beta.
Nah, what Anthem could’ve been have already existed, it’s called Warframe and Destiny.
Im still mad about Scalebound being cancelled
It does if you buy it for a couple bucks lol
Yeah the core conceit was solid they just gave up once everyone left because it was broken and had little content.
But that’s the problem with studios and managers. Bioware magic killed yet another game.
I’d buy a second/reboot attempt, especially if it wasn’t a looter shooter.
Helldivers 2
Friend and I were just talking about this!
The flying was so satisfying!
The game was ruined by Shitty updates that broke core functions of the game. It was devs that listened to much instead of sticking to what they made. The loot system was fucked though
Yeah I loved this game but your right. If the Anthem 2.0 update would have actually been finished it could have gotten better. I wanted this game to be awesome too!
I still love to play it sometimes just fly around and shoot stuff though
On the bright side I learned my lesson with no man’s sky with how shit it was on launch to not preorder (yes I know it’s good now, but that launch was utter shit)
On the flip side, it’s really a shame what bioware has become. EA destroys every studio they acquire
Game was wonderful and I don’t think fans ever once gave it a fair chance.
The flight system in that game was the best ever and I doubt it’ll be topped anytime soon.
It looked like Warframe with a splash of Mass Effect style and I was so looking forward to it. I wanted to wait a few days to see people’s first impressions and I’m glad I did because it was a mountain of trash.
It’s a shame that BioWare has fallen so far over the past ten years. The situation is the same with Bethesda. I’m just as nervous for the next Mass Effect as I am for the next Elder Scrolls.
felt the same about hellgate: london. loved that game and it just went downnnn
Flying around in the mech suits while trying not to overheat was really fun.
I loved the combat mechanics in Anthem. I hated how the story progressed. I wanted more combat and less long drawn out time in the city.
It had so much potential, but no singular identity.
If you have a friend to play it with (like I did), it’s a fun time. Mind you, we only did the campaign. Wasn’t interested in the PvP.
I actually enjoyed this game. It was hot garage from a completion perspective but it was fun.
It did deliver exactly what was shown, just not what it was said to be. Absorb marketing with more than just your eyes.
It’s unfortunate that they couldn’t pull off the “Destiny killer” that they were going for. Since then Destiny has really fallen off – would’ve been nice to have a similar style of open world game
The first couple hours of Anthem were so amazing. And then it wasn’t
What’s really crazy is that other game studios didn’t learn from Anthem chasing the Destiny killer live service looter shooter. 5 years later we’ve still got failed games chasing that carrot.
I wish they’d update it to have 60fps on current gen consoles. I actually like the flying mechanic.
Ah yes, the best hardware money could buy and spent an eternity in loading screens, fast refund
Too damn many Loading Screens, Progression got blocked by stupid requirements, and crashed too often
even with what it was, I had so much fun in anthem, I would have loved for them to have just keep adding content and fixes. It had issues, but man I had so much fun.
I’ve never seen a game that a community wanted to see succeed more. Everyone knows what this game could have, and should have been. Everyone can see it. Yet it’s a game that flopped and no one knows how they could have fucked it over this hard.
Everyone loves the core gameplay loop, it’s just in its current state, quite literally everything around it isn’t up to par.
If they said “new studio, new version of the game, full support” everyone would jump back in the game just as fast as the titanfall community hears the words “titanfall 3”. I don’t think it’s far fetched to say.
It’s just sad.
This game actually did look cool for so long until it’s release, it’s a shame though to because i was going to play it until i saw a few gameplay videos on it and felt sad that it wasn’t good
It crashes so much, and you cant play it withiut playstation plus
Like i play alone so much in this game, just disable multiplayer😭😭
I have a physical copy from my uncle but it doesn’t seem to work keep saying no internet connection which is weird cuz i have 5g
I have zero expectations from Bioware. EA chewed them up and spit them out. They’re done.
Idc what anyone says, this IS a really good game. Once again it was the people who are bound and determined to “complete” a game in one day, that led to the downfall of this game. I’ve read over the years that the weather dynamic that was in a few clips is why people gave this a bad rating and didn’t want to play it. I alpha, beta tested this game. It had so much going for it and the community of “not enough content” ruined it for everyone again! A bit of a rant I know but just because your a “not enough content” person because you put 40 hours in a game in 2 days, doesn’t mean something is bad or lacking, it means your addicted and doe t give things a chance to bloom.
