Sweet build. I hope you got a good deal for the 5900x as I would recommend a 7600x because the upgrade path and the similar performance from what I’ve heard

  2. HallowzoneOG

Looks clean! My first setup was not even close to being as nice as this. This is awesome and I’m excited for you to keep upgrading when you can OP! No rush, always take the time to enjoy your hardware.

That monitor would bottleneck the PS2 as well

Damn I remember when that style of monitor/TV was all the rage (Samsung was one of main companies responsible for that glossy black look, but others did the same thing such as LG)

  12. Welcome aboard! Yea, monitor is one thing, but you’re already doing that. I myself use 42 inch sony tv as a monitor thou… I don’t care about latency that much 😀

  13. WinterKujira

a lil bit of patience for a new monitor and your setup will be stellar, still, grats OP for the setup, liking the placement of mic.

I had that same monitor/TV and the panel was horrible, i don’t think I’ve ever seen worse.

You are just pointlessly having bad ass hardware with that monitor my friend

Dang, looks nice. And any problems in it, you already seem to be planning on addressing. Have you decided on a monitor? A 27” 1440p should be good for pretty much anything, but 24” is also good, especially for ESports.
If you have a low budget, maybe get something that has a wide Color gamut over a feature like HDR. But if you value deep blacks in your image, maybe get some kind of an OLED (QDOLED, WOLED). 144Hz should be more than enough. Ofc, all this goes out the window if you are an ESports gamer and only care for low latency. Then get something with High refresh rate, low latency and good pixel response time. And a 24” monitor is likely ideal to easily view the whole screen at once.

I would highly recommend researching thoroughly before getting a monitor as it is the part of the PC you interact the most with. I got a 27GL850, and mostly happy. The blacks are horrible but it makes up for it with low latency, good Color reproduction, wide Color gamut and 144Hz refresh rate.

I am confused between the thought of Pc being bottle necked by the display and keyboard? Or the other way around.

  20. Elrepetidor2000

You just need one fan on the back exit, save the other 2 for the future. (Dont buy more, you dont need more)

I have the same tv. It was my main tv for quite a few years, but now it’s in the bedroom. It’s still going strong. Good luck with your new pc. Eventually you’ll keep upgrading bit by bit. You have a much nicer setup than I did with my first pc. Welcome to being a pc gamer and enjoy your gaming.

Budget for a new monitor when you go through such an upgrade. That 7800xt is going to be underutilized with your current monitor. Congrats on everything else!
