Which other 3rd person games let you build your own town like the Witcher’s Corvo Bianco?

I really dig the idea of building functional houses, upgrading them over time and see the town flourish while walking through it in 3rd person perspective.

Are there (indie) games that focus on this? I know the AC series also has similar features but it’s similarly side-lined like Corvo Bianco is in TW3, unfortunately. Would love to have this as the main feature.

Falllout 4 let’s you build settlements. And improved with mods – much more possibilities / variety.

Oddly Enough No man’s skys town building is quite good

  4. CokeZeroFanClub

Dark cloud, dragon quest builders, actraiser are the main ones off the rip.

No no kuni 2 has a town you build, but I think it’s even more of a side project than Witcher

  5. Teddy_Palace

Kingdome Come: Deliverance had this too

  6. Rath_Brained

Dragon quest builders 2 let’s you build several towns, and your own islands for npcs to live in.

  7. schokokuchenmonster

    I would recommend you Enshrouded.

  8. Thoosarino

Morrowind expansion let you build raven rock, kinda

  9. Ereinion66

Manor Lord, game will be on steam this month in EA if I remember correctly.

  10. SmartCasual1

Assassins creed 3 had a great system that nobody ever talks about called the homestead and it really felt like your little town. I loved it and got the story out the way so I could play Simcity 1776

  11. FlynnToWin

My Life as a King on the Wii was a Final Fantasy version of that. Love that game. Wish they would rerelease it in the Switch!

I didn’t know you could build your own town. What exactly can you build in Witcher 3? I thought in toussaint you can improve your estate… but it’s not a town right?

  13. Toshiba_Yamari

Fallout 4 (can be 1st person or 3rd person)

  14. Sonic200000

Botw, you build a town help them flourish.

In totk you expand the town and build your own mansion

  15. celestial_god

I also loved that, also there was triss or yenn there iirc at the end of the game. I thought we gonna go all stardew valley there for a sec.

  16. Fallout 4, Medieval Dynasty, Manor Lords(not out yet), Dragon Age Inquisition (kind of), Assassin’s Creed Black Flag.

That’s just what I can remember by name

  17. Turbulent-Demand6833

Like a Dragon infinite wealth have the animal crossing clone

  18. Jack-Innoff

Hol up… You can build a town in the witcher? I really need to finish the dlc’s

  19. ShadowMasked1099

Fallout 4 had the Settlement System, where half the fanbase questions it’s existence and the other half swears by it and their network of Settlements.

  20. bounce217

There’s this game called animal crossing that lets you do that

  21. ProjectPorygon

Breath of the wild. And it’s super nice cause I carried over to TOTK where ya get to see how it developed further

  22. Somehow I completed DLC and didn’t even know you can do that.

  23. You could build a whole town? I thought it was a vinyard.

  24. Sad_Thought_4642

Weren’t you able to build your own keep in the first Pillars of Eternity game?

  25. Kitkatgamer6

Breath of The Wild with Terrytown and AC Valhalla with Raventhorpe

A lot of Assassin’s Creed games have features like this, although some are more involved than others. Off the top of my head, Assassin’s Creed 2, Assassin’s Creed 3, Black Flag, and Valhalla all have these features. AC3 is more involved with homestead quests you have to complete, VS the others which are more “Exchange resources/money for building”.

Shout out to Fallout 4 and the settlement system – it’s very number-crunchy and fairly involved, and there’s a hell of a lot of possible settlement sites. The whole Minuteman ending is basically locked behind it to a certain extent and you’re expected to do some of it in the Railroad questline too, so it’s pretty baked in.

Spiritfarer might scratch the itch to a certain extent. It’s not like the other games on this list but it’s a lot of fun building stuff and rearranging it on your ship.

  27. Not familiar with this game but maybe banished would be similar?

Skies of Arcadia let’s you build your own base and populate it with NPCs to run local businesses and such. There’s even two of each type of NPC who have different bonuses, so while the one in town tends to the store, the other can set up shop on your ship.

Enshrouded has a sort of town building mechanic. You recruit NPCs in the game that act as advanced “crafting benches,” but they require stuff like shelter and facilities/comfort to utilize higher crafts. They don’t really move about the buildings, but act like shopkeepers from an RPG. You can place them wherever you want, it’s fun building them their own little living quarters. Since you can build everything brick by brick you can make some extravagant housing and town layouts. One goal of mine is to build one giant mansion to house all the NPCs and live there like a proper lord.
