Is this a remake of the original Age of Mythology? The steam page isn’t clear, and this is the first i have heard of it.

ooooh man i loved the OG version. Lots of great LAN parties back in the day and smashing thru with your titan trying to get to that wonder before it was too late. Really liked the layer rock-paper-scissors of unit types too.
I love what they are doing with the Age of franchise
AOE 2 Definitive edition, amazing
AOE 4 absolutely amazing, it’s in the continuity of the 2 but each civilization plays really differently, it’s not just one unique units and tech anymore no. Walls, siege everything has been revamped, the campaign is fun too.
I didn’t play AOE 3 DE to judge it but heard good things about it.
And now AoM: retold, which looks like a definitive edition on steroids
Frankly it just shows that there is a market for RTS, major publishers are obsessed with FIFA or fortnite level of revenues and popularity they tend to forget that AA and other markets exist and can generate profits ( and GP subscriptions) ! I am not saying they should cancel everything and do just that no, but ONE RTS developed well is not too much to ask every few years
On another subject, for Helldivers 2 published by Sony, it did not cost 250m to develop, it did not follow the “code” for modern live-service games, yet it’s so fun and it’s working out.
They could make a Red Alert 2: Yuri’s forever (or whatever) on EA side, pretty sure the game would work out just fine, they released the first CnC I think but it was a very small budget thing (albeit fun I think RA2 and Generals are the one that could really work out as definitive editions)

I’m interested. AoM is my favourite RTS. It was a refreshing concept with choosing your pantheon every time you reach a new age, plus a successful take on the back-then innovative 3D, and it was so fun. Don’t forget its vibrant scenario design scene (the scenario/campaign maker was miles ahead at the time).

I’m ready for this whenever they are! Still play AoM to this day. I was fond of Age of Empires 1 and 2, but Mythology was so much more about fun, it really stole my heart. No Age title has ever bettered that for me.
Now if this could spur EA to do Yuri’s Revenge again… That would be awesome too!
