Completely unsurprising. I hope this won’t lead to mass layoffs at Rocksteady, but I know it will.

  2. CommunicationAway387

They sound just like their players

  3. getyourcheftogether

They should have just cut their losses way back in development when they did that horrible reveal

Warner Bros., famous for their ‘let’s make something based on a brief popularity spike from 3-4 years ago but that no one will want by the time it’s finished and see how much billions we make’ production strategy, once again makes something based on a brief popularity spike from 3-4 years ago that no one wanted by the time it was finished and did not make billions.

Also the game’s entire model is terrible and even the developers appeared to be phoning it in.

Between this, skull and bones, and Anthem, can we please go back to making high quality single player titles?

Just like as the game name it has fallen

  7. Ron_E_Coyote

They went from the Arkham games to this garbage, so disgusting.

A close friend of mine loves super hero games. He’s the guy who played Marvel Avengers at launch all the way through to the delisting. He was really excited for this game. Even through all the bad press. No doubt he pre-ordered it.

He texted me this morning that he’s already moved on. That’s my personal canary in the coalmine, but the steam charts are brutal:

    This game is cooked.

  9. Should have been a classic beat ‘em up style game

  10. MrOphicer

IGN eating their “Vindication!” shaped cake lol…

  11. sesameseed88

I forgot this game existed after helldiver’s and last epoch lmao

Whose expectations? Seems it is exactly as the community expected.

I was actually excited when I first heard of this game. I’d love to play a Suicide Squad game. And a lot of the cutscenes look great. But I was thinking more along the lines of the Arkham series gameplay. When I actually watched the gameplay and the action/actual playing part of the game it just looked so goofy. That, coupled with having to play with other players (I think?) killed it for me. A part of me is glad to see the gaming community mostly agrees.

    Ya think? Lol

B-b-b-b-but you guys are just hating on the game ok?!? Its really good guyz i swear it is! Ya’ll are just haterz

I had fun with it for my 11 hours it took to beat. Not interested in end game content and I’m not sure I will reinstall it to play the next few seasons that are coming out.

The gameplay in general was fun even on the hardest difficulty. There was some stuff like the “only grenades damage enemies” challenges that were pretty scuffed if you killed everything too quick (I’ve been left with one invincible sniper before because I didn’t have anything else to get grenades from)

    The boss fights were “okay”

Superman was the toughest but only because his arena was so large. Green lantern was mid at best, I mostly just used my sniper and never really got hit. Batman was an interesting twist for getting to the fight and while his fight is “boring TPS boss” it was more engaging than the rest just imo (still to easy)

And flash was meh as well.

I’m confused by the gear system as well because I got a yellow shotgun for boomerang about 1 hour in and it NEVER fell off in damage. All the gear I got was worse stat wise and passive wise. Other than a few shields it seems the gear doesn’t matter much which is nice but also brings the question to mind, what was the point of a gear system to begin with (outside of trying to monetize and make the game seem grindy)

The writing imo wasn’t half bad. There were some moments that genuinely made me laugh and playing boomerang for almost the entirety of the game was the way to go. Quinn was a 2nd favorite character and I found her to be engaging to play as well. Shark and deadshot were my least favorite characters by a very large margin, especially deadshot. Very bland Diet anthem gameplay.

Story wise unless the seasons completely change enemies and boss fights it won’t last without a pretty prompt sale. I preferred Gotham knights to this one, it had a longer to complete story. 4 characters who were actually engaging to play with me liking all 4. And while it could be a touch frustrating every now and then I never felt like anything was unfair.

In KTJL the snipers are VERY annoying. The big guys with 5 HP bars are annoying but generally easy to kill (unless there are multiple grouped together) and the game at times seemed very stingy for grenades along with the “super moves” doing less damage than my almighty legendary shotgun.

It’s a mess of systems but I still had some very bright high points where the combat and the hyper mobility of Quinn and boomerang clicked where I could go a long time in the air, quickly transition to a ground strike, and end up back in the air. It still is a fun game but frustrating with some disjointed gameplay systems that don’t work all that well together (leg shots not working anyone?)

Was it worth 70? Nah but I had a ton of MS money from christmas. If it were $30 or $40 it’s a decent little package. Definitely doesn’t deserve the 3s and 5s but isn’t any higher than a 6.5 imo.

Everyone with an internet connection: no shit.

  17. If WB wants a live service game they shouldve just brought back gotham imposters.

  18. TheTapDancingMormon

863 peak players in the last 24 hours. Yikes. I hope this, and the inevitable failure of Skull and Bones, deters game studios from pricing mid games at $70. If suicide squad was $30 – $40 I bet it would have more interested players.

  19. Danominator

Stop trying to turn games into massive cash cows. Just make a good game

  20. Before thet made the game they could have asked some gamers what they thought about this idea. Vast majority would have told them it is going to fail HARD.

  21. LupusDeusMagnus

It exceeds my expectation. I thought it would be dead on arrival, yet there are nearly 700 people playing it right now.

  22. TheInsomn1ac

Which is weird because it exactly met the expectations of everyone else.

  23. cobrakai11

Not to pile on reasons for why it failed, but the voice actress for Harley Quinn was absolutely terrible. Dialed up to 11 at all times, and her script was non-stop stupid. They completely overestimate her popularity and did not let her shrill voice shut up at any point in the game.

  24. According_Sky8344

A game no one asked for that they tried to force into a if money maker because ppl probably said x buzzwords make money. U just need it in the game to make bank

Should of not been a looter shooter and a single player game and it probably would of sold decent

Seeing king shark and the rest of them using all these rng guns is just dumb af too tbh

  25. Hypernatremia

Personally, I’m sick of Harley Quin

  26. Burgoonius

I just don’t understand the inclusion of guns. The only character that is known for using guns is Deadshot and maybe Harley. I know people may not like hearing this but it should have had combat like the Avengers game maybe just more refined.

  27. Blyght555

When you make a live service game from a famous single player based company what do you expect WB… you forced them to make a microtransaction infested live service battle pass game, when your microtransactions cost just as much as helldivers 2 you know you messed up

All they had to do was make another Batman game, use what you had from Arkham knight as the frame work, would have sold twice as many copies…but hey no companies would rather make a store with a game built around it than a good game

  28. Kitchen-Ad4603

Good job, everyone!! Keep voting with your wallets.

  29. Funny, because the game is exactly what most people assumed it would be.

  30. Storm_Dancer-022

Why would you have had expectations? As a big comics fan, I cannot discern who this game was made for.

  31. Marblecraze

Hogwarts was good and I didn’t read those books or salivate over the movies, didn’t even see last several. Hogwarts Legacy, great game, some flaws, but overall, very good.

In contrast, I’ve walls of comic books and kill the justice league fucking sucked.

    Good luck WB.

  32. Bluedot55

Kinda funny that they accidentally launched into the PvE coop looter shooter genre against helldivers. And one of those costs 70% less, throws the only premium currency at you, and focused on the gameplay.
