Final Fantasy XVI, not as excessive as Asura’s Wrath but I’d say it has about the same over-the-top feeling and it has amazing boss fights

Doom Eternal reminds me of Warhammer 40k, could give that a try.

Devil may Cry 3, 4 and 5. Don’t Bother with the 2013 DMC Reboot.

I suppose there is the entire God of War series. Man too angry to die.

Asura’s Wrath is a tough one to beat when it comes to scale but the first one that comes to mind is Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. You’ll find yourself running up skyscraper sized mechs and cutting them in half, murdering your way through a cities worth of soldiers, listening to a BANGIN metal soundtrack, and fighting unique and powerful bosses. All topped off with a crazy, hilarious, and at time a pretty emotional story.

I’m just gonna say lost planet 2, it may not seem it but feels pretty bombastic.

Nothing can beat it in terms of scale.
But in the epicness department, I’d put my money on games made by Platinum games like MGS R, Bayonetta and Vanquish.

Might be recency bias, but Helldivers 2 makes you feel pretty badass when you’re calling in crazy airstrikes
Atlas Fallen, MGR:R, FF16, maybe helldivers 2 if ya wanna be a psychopath from starship troopers

I’m still waiting for that one boss fight that will feel as epic as battling Augus at the freaking moon.

Graphics may be little dated but try Prototype 1&2 if you haven’t

As Asura’s Wrath is basically Shonen Anime: The Videogame I wonder why for example Dragon Ball games aren’t taking the same route. It’s easy money.
I would say in terms of over the top action Vanquish is pretty much up there. Also Vampire Survivors feels quite epic when you mow through a screen full of enemies at full power but that’s a completely different genre.

Try Prototype. Not as much epic but still

Godhand is pretty good. Honestly a little disappointed that it never got a sequel it was really fun and it had funny moments.

not so epic as in a grand scale of things but more like on the gnarlyness of sick combos and adrenaline, ultrakill is awesome sauce

Final Fantasy 16 is pretty wild, the fights are so damn cool, and the drama is just *chefs kiss*
