I am NOT overclocking so I don’t know if this is allowed here but you guys seem to use and know Prime95 a lot so I figured it’s worth a shot. If it’s not allowed here then tell me where to go.
For a few months I’ve had a game constantly crash nonsensically in what I think is a clear case of memory corruption or the CPU crapping out. This game is NOT CPU intensive at all so it extremely unlikely that this is a temperature problem. Today I ran Prime95 and I’ve had it fail a few times after a few minutes. Although sometimes it can run for much longer without issues.

* CPU cooling: air cooler (Cooler Master Hyper 212) – once again temperatures are unlikely to be a problem, which is why I have this. I’m ok with the CPU underclocking itself when hot.

* Power supply: Aerocool LUX 1000W https://aerocool.io/product/lux-1000w/ (YES, I know. I’m extremely suspicious of this. In fact the motherboard has two power intakes for the CPU but this power supply only has one plug. I was told that wasn’t a problem as long as I didn’t overclock)

100% replace the PSU. Wattage and quality are two totally different things, Aerocool is one of the least trustworthy brands on the market.

Also get a better cooler. Running at 95-100C with only 190 watts package power is terrible, you can get a cooler that will do 250 watts for the same cost as the CM 212. Reduced noise and better longevity are still benefits even if you ignore performance.

Second CPU power connector is not technically required for stock operation, a single connector is good for 300-350 watts. The second connector just reduces voltage drop and cable heat, as the electrical resistance is lower.
