Just put 32gb of ram in my laptop and now I have the old chips so what should do with them?

Should I sell them, keep them? They are still good so not sure what to do with them.

    I would keep them incase anything ever goes wrong. Having spare components is great for solving issues you may be having.

    Get a bunch of wires to solder to the new and old chips. That way, you can use both the old and the new at the same time. /s

    But seriously, always put the old ones in the case the new came in and put away somewhere safe for “emergencies.”

    Sometimes, it’s nice to have a backup pair for diagnostics. If diagnostics point towards bad ram. Hey, you have something to get you by.

    Honestly you should sell them. You’ll realistically never need them.

    Or you can do like I do and throw them in a box in the closet forever “just in case”

    I turned my $110 upgrade in to a $50 upgrade by selling my old sticks. Sell them while they are worth something.

    Unless you have another laptop that could do with an upgrade, sell them.

    I purchased a 32gb ddr4 kit for my laptop, which meant the 16gb kit that came in it could go into my wife’s laptop.

    So I got an upgrade to 32gb ddr4-3200 and the wife got an upgrade to 16gb ddr4-3200. Now I have a single stick of 8gb ddr4-not 3200 that can either collect dust in my drawer or can go in the bin, unless someone wants it.

    I would keep them for a month just in case, then if you don’t need them after that sell them. That month is if something happens to the new ram and if you need to return them at all
