Circuit Nurse (1988) – Now subtitled! A forgotten Japanese sci-fi movie. There’s a cute whitehat hacker, digital carrot field, and a megacorp virus that looks like Andross from Star Fox! I believe this is the first 100% Neuromancer-like cyberpunk movie! One of the most, ever, in fact!

[My Review (It’s blowing up more than the movie, dang!)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5SKF1dOpn0)

Wow, I located this one from an HDTV rip. I’m still searching for a VHS! It has been subtitled by a human with great quality. Enjoy!

Circuit Nurse was a hidden gem. Not only do I think it’s the first totally cyberpunk movie (versus the more influential archetypical sources of inspiration for the genre from the earlier 1980’s), Circuit Nurse has a strange power (often found in Japanese media) to communicate many cyberpunk concepts.

The film leads to some stark, disturbing ideas, all delivered in a cute package. Watch it for the carrot field hacking exercises, bid it farewell with invasive viruses overwriting entire psyches. Yikes! It’s bizarre.

If our AI turns out to be like Fleksoid, I think we’ll be doing alright!
