As long as they have a good launch line-up, i’m good.

Maybe Nintendo saw the Sony lawsuit discovery info on the PS6 and were like “eh, we got time to beat them to it” haha

(Early 2025 as of now)

I’m good with that. Theres rumors that they’ll have digital and physical bacmwards compat so that’s the big plus for me.
Still got my OG release Switch, can’t wait for S2
2Scribble
That’s fine – after the launch lineup issues platforms like the Wii U had, we know well just how important a starting roster is to Nintendo consoles
Get a good platform out there – with good games – and we’ll be eating fine
Plus, that means we’ve got a better shot at the next mainline Pokemon generation ***not being chained to the Switch*** – which, even with TPC being TPC – can only be a good thing

I have no issue but tbh they would need to show more than peach and ports (mario DK, paper mario, luigi’s mansion..) for the FY2024
Then there’s this rumour that the February direct, usually a big one, is a partner direct ?
I don’t know, I initially thought they kinda already delayed this switch 2 after the prolonged success so end of 2024 we’d have a console and its solid line-up, if it’s Q1 2025 then it’s really a non-issue but I just hope we will see more games announcement for switch OG
I have 0 doubts on the switch 2 first year because we had 2017 with its mario kart, odyssey, zelda, xenoblade arms etc, I know we’ll see something similar
MisterDookie1
That’s fine. Hopefully it isn’t woefully underpowered.

2025 — This is going to have LCD and not OLED, right?

What I saw at first glance “Source 2 launching on Nintendo Switch”
theleftovers1014
Honestly that’s fine as long as it’s backwards compatible
lucky_leftie
Some how Nintendo will still release a system that’s worse than a galaxy s2. And everyone will cheer
No-Cash-9923
Given the current gaming state, I’m just hoping for some solid titles at launch. Power isn’t everything, games make the console!
MongolianMango
I bet Switch 2 is already developed, they’re just waiting on the games.
headbanger1186
The sources are like the doomsday people that claim the world is going to end and then something changes… Oops it’s next year the earth is ending.

Sure grandpa, now let’s get you to bed
laytblu
They really wanted to beat PS2 lifetime sales.
thedoommerchant
That’s okay with me, however it makes me curious what games we’re going to get this Fall. Metroid Prime 2 & 3 remastered? New top down Zelda?
Preddy_Fusey
Will they go the branding route that they did with the Wii U? Call it the Switcheroo
Olly0206
Anyone familiar with Nintendo’s pricing strategy? Will they drop the price on the Switch ahead of the Switch 2 and how early might that happen?
mouse1093
Meh. Bummer tbh. The switch was old in the tooth 2 years ago and the mini refresh can only prolong it for so long. Totk seemed like their swan song for the console but it’s going to be going on 2 years old by the launch now. Holiday 2024 sounded so much sooner and more exciting than a full year+ away even if the delay is only a grand total of a month or so

Can’t wait to play with the strength of a PS4 Pro 🔥

Nintendo Switch 2 will now launch on everybody’s birthday!
LordYamz
I’m so glad i bought an oled one like a year ago!
Firamaster
Damn. Metriod prime 4 might have skipped a whole console generation
Dan-D-Lyon
I used to really look forward to new console releases, but these days as far as I’m concerned the longer it takes to put out a new console the better
MortalPhantom
I’ve been saying this for more than a year.

Nintendo always announced their consoles with at least 1 year between announcement and release. The only exception funnily enough was the Switch, which was announced only 6 months before release, but that’s because the WiiU failed and they needed something fast.
No doubt they will announce the Switch 2 this year, but it will release 2025
Dubulous6
I’m always good with delays if that means it ensures a quality product
Stunning_Fee_8960
Will I be able to play ds lite games on it if not hard pass
SinisterPixel
I say it on every post, take everything Switch 2 related with a grain of salt. “Leakers” have been dropping “information” about a Nintendo Switch successor for *years*. Every year since 2019 we’ve been told a new harware iteration or generation was getting announced that year.
I will believe news on a successor console to the Switch when I hear it straight from the source horse’s mouth. When Nintendo announce it.
Don’t humour these supposed leaks, and don’t give your ad engagement to these crappy “news” outlets who publish a new story on this shit every week. Gaming journalism has completely gone down the toilet.
