Not an impressive score overall, nor is it highly competitive – but seeing a 12 year old CPU still attempt to put up a fight is fun. CPU clock speed is tapped out – fully stabilizing 5 GHz takes >1.5V. This CPU runs 4.9 GHz/1.45V daily. RAM may or may not be a wash – 2×4 GB of better overclocking RAM might bench better, but it isn’t really ideal for daily use. Samsung Q-Die is strange – these DIMMs are actually unstable at the 1.65V VDIMM the XMP profile assigns – I actually have to drop the voltage to 1.55V because this IC experiences pretty severe negative voltage scaling.
This was just a curiosity – this system had an RTX 2060 in it that was replaced by a cheap local sale of a 6600 XT. The lower driver overhead on the 6600 XT actually did appear to have a measurable impact on 0.1% lows.
