So I’m on the fence about things here. I paid about $1,750 back in 2019 for a PC from iBUYPower. That money now into a PC would be a pretty decent build! But what it got me then was a intel i5 8600k CPU, Asus Prime Z370-P Mobo, Asus GeForce GTX 1060 6gb, 16Gb ddr4 3200mhz Ram, Windows 10 and odds and end bells and whistles.
Well now I’m getting back into gaming, taxes are coming up. The big thing right now streamers are promoting is “Starforge PC’s”. Now don’t get me wrong they look like good pcs and the specs are there, the streamers themselves use the pcs and the streams are flawless.. But for one, it’s mainly all intel cpus and Nvidia gpus. I was looking into AMD and Radeon components actually and they see to be the winners right now.
I guess what I’m getting at is it worth paying what they’re asking for their builds, or should I try and build my own and use AMD and Radeon products.. The price of the PC I would be looking at is about $4,700.. I feel I could get the TOP of the line components with that budget. But here’s the pc. What would you do?

Hello MuLLetDaDDie, and thank you for your submission to Gaming PC! If you are new please check out our rules over at the wiki [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/gamingpc/wiki/rules)!
We have recently added the useful feature of Title Flair! You can set this manually by clicking Flair under your post once you have submitted your post, but if you missed it in the rules there is a much better way that will automatically flair your post!
To do this simply add what your post is about in brackets before your title. For example for a Build Log you can type [Build Log] before your post so that it looks like this; [Build Log]My new awesome build!, and the bot will automatically set your flair to Build Log! This works for Build Log, Build Showcase, News, Hardware News, Hardware Release, Discussion, and Miscellaneous!
Also remember that this is a place for discussing and sharing our love of Gaming Computers! This is NOT the place for help building or determining what parts you should buy, that is better suited for /r/buildapc. Troubleshooting questions should be directed to /r/techsupport. Thank you again!

this is about as top of the line as it gets, unless you’d prefer an amd cpu this is high end of the high end
It is expensive but if you want it, get it. Everyone on here is gonna say build it yourself but I like the peace of mind of buying prebuilt. All specs are good, so if you don’t mind paying (you don’t) $100-$200 hundred for having it prebuilt + warranty go for it!
Id build my own. If you’re looking at an almost $5000 PC and feel like you’re not 100% sold on it, then its probably not a good idea.
You’ll get exactly what you want by building it yourself.
Why would you ever need a PC so expensive? There’s way cheaper prebuilt options with the same specs.
Also, if you build that on your own, you’d save like $1.5k.
do yourself a favor and watch a few “how to build a PC” videos. If you feel like you would be in way over your head after that then yeah, the peace of mind you can get from buying a prebuilt is worth the extra money.
If you feel like you could take a swing at it I bet you could save like $1000 building it yourself and get the exact top of the line components you want.
At least put Stank out of frame before screenshooting
Nay. I recommend building your PC unless you are not able to physically. You can save over $1000-$2000 for the same or even better specs and have more money to splurge on high-quality peripherals, like monitors, high-end keyboards, audio gear, etc, to maximize your gaming/productivity experience. Please give me your PC budget and peripheral budget. I’ll give it a shot to maximize that price/performance, lol
If you are rich maybe
I don’t understand paying nearly 10x the price of a PS5 for a gaming rig but if you make that kind of money you do you. You could save 1k for the same specs by going with a different brand.
