The actual GPU is actually just a chip the size of your average CPU, the whole block you see is the cooler + ports. Scammers sometimes would just take the fan block of the GPU without the actual chip and sell them, passing them off as cheap graphic cards

Good lord, for that price you could have just bought a 4090 desktop and a laptop with a 4060 in it for while you’re on the go.
With laptops the higher up GPU you buy, the more performance you pay for that you don’t actually get to see, it’s such a waste to get a laptop over a xx70 or equivalent.

4k for a high powered gaming notebook and then 1tb ssd (in RAID 0, because they had loads of old 512gb drives in storage) so you can install 3 games in total.

A really good place to snipe great laptops is actually best buy, they do monthly specials where it isnt uncommon to see 25-35% off current laptops. Ive seen i9’s with 4090’s for mid to low 3000’s from them before

People forget that Desktop Replacement is still a category/class of portable computers. This isnt really a laptop. Its something you buy so you dont have to haul a gaming desktop every time you wanna go game at a buddies house etc. Or for someone with little space for a big tower. Laptops are for getting some work done. Send some emails.

It is a different kind of the 4090, not the ones on desktop.
Also, laptop variants usually have much lower TDP to cram them inside the small chassis, otherwise the GPU would nuke itself to oblivion if it has the same TDP as the desktop counterpart.

Normally yes but a 4090 in a laptop is the mobile variant, It’s quite a bit less performant, And physically smaller, So doesn’t need as much power delivery or cooling.
