Not really related to this game but I saw this only ever once while playing The Division 2 and it was the most amazing videogame firefight ever. Bullet tracers, explosions and people darting in and out of the fog and the sideways raining sand. I’m sure it would look equally awesome in cyberpunk as well.

Its a half-assed attempt of CDPR to add dust storms into the weather rotation. It looks horrible, spawns a tonn of glitches with lighting (at least with PT) and makes it hard to see. Sadly, its not a mistake, its how devs intended for it to be. It was added in one of the updates before 2.0.
Every time someone posts about these, I read their commentary as a general commentary on climate destabilization and it always works.

It’s just fire season weather.
If you’re stuck with a sandstorm, sleep for 6 hours (no more, no less) and it should stop. Another 6 hour nap can be used if the first doesn’t work, it just has to be 6 hours.
It might be 8 hours, I haven’t had to do it for a while.

I’ve lived in nothern California for quite a few years now and this is rare, but normal. This famously happened on September 9th, 2020. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orange_Skies_Day](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orange_Skies_Day) It happens because of wildfires IRL but in the game world it’s a sandstorm, as folks have mentioned.

That happened in my game recently thought it was glitched but it went away eventually
sandstorm. one of the few weather occurrences in cp2077. just like rain, fog and acid rain.
This is definitely a known glitch. I was stuck in sandstorm for over a month and I played it several hours everyday before I had enough and looked it up. I think it’s a sleep in a bed for x amount of hours that snapped it out of it
Sometimes I feel like it glitches and last longer. Eventually it fixes itself if it’s not part of a game moment like haboobs.
That is the truest and closest representation of a marine layer effect in California. Though this one is probably toxic for your health.

100% normal, you live in a desert.
So I had that happen to me and it lasted quite a while and then I started seeing weird shadows as well and something was totally off. Just tabbed out of the game and back in and it stopped. I believe at first it was fine but then weird things were happening. I think it is connected to a kind of bug I see that sometimes when i come back from the esc menu everything is super bright for a few seconds like a nuclear explosion in the distance.

It’s a glitch where it won’t go away. I’d recommend reloading previous save or just sleeping in Vs apartment for a few day straight

still better than my misty weather. every morning feels like it’s midnight and it looks bad it is still like this for 4 hours of playing
I’m pretty sure night city is in the south west USA so sandstorms aren’t gonna be unheard of for that region. Also it’s 2077 where extreme capitalism/corporatism has messed up the natural state of the world to the point where extreme weather event like this are much more common and severe than irl
From a gameplay perspective…I’m sure it’s supposed to happen fairly randomly and should stop after a certain period of time has passed. Maybe your game has glitched in some way so it’s almost like a permanent sandstorm? If it’s bothering I’d advice either rebooting your game or try fast travelling to other areas/skipping time by sleeping
it’s a sandstorm. it happens occasionally in California. they can be bright pretty much like in the game
