Tried my hand at a custom fountain mineral oil cooler PC. Did it turn out well? I certainly think so. Would I recommend anyone copy this? Absolutely not… unless you enjoy cleaning a gallon of spilled oil off the floor.
That said thermals are great and after some initial spills it have been remarkably stable for the level of jank in it. Quite the fun project. Might make a better version in the future!

Wish it had some fish
Looks cool and I dont want to downplay your build but wouldnt a fully submerged build work better and be more reliable?
Always been a dream to build a mineral oil PC. And always when I’m just about to dive into it, I remember the pain that doing any amount of work post-filling will inevitably cause.
But one day…
Is it loud ? Sounds loud
the thing I don’t get about a submerged PC is you still need to cool the fluid. without a radiator you are basically just heating whatever fluid you use.
I guess if the surface area of the tank is large enough it will cool, but seems pointless. I dunno
Til about mineral oil cooling
Absolutely brilliant and extremely cursed

I built one of these years ago! Always seemed to get too hot and came home to about 3 gallons of the oil on my floor. Luckily it was an unfinished basement. Was still a massive pain to clean up!
I wonder how does it look after a couple of years of use… Looks nice but I also not so practicall
Awesome
These always look like a cool project but the messiness come maintenance time or if a container failure occurs turns me off of it every time my monkey brain sees the shiny thing. These days [3M Novec](https://youtu.be/RyFoNDa0pbI?si=eLPiPy61qRwhPIE-) submersion cooling is a thing. Maybe some people in here will find it interesting. Best way is to do it in a sealed system so you have the opportunity to implement a condenser and not be a total loss cooling system.
the amount of pain it already causes me to dissemble and troubleshoot a dry computer…. Im not built for it lol

ridiculously cool more like
How much time can you have the components submerged in mineral oil ? Do they go bad ?
this is sick
This kind of shit is what I’m looking for on this sub. A true Masterrace.
There’s no such thing!
Erm, I’ll stick to using a fan for now
