Remember when Planetside 2 had Physx? It was so cool, wish this technology developed further

Is PhysX even a thing? Is it still being used, or did it die like other technologies like tessellation?
Edit for those who kept downvoting: it used to be a option in the game settings like hairworks, physx and so on, unless the performance impact has become negligible that they can stay on even on low settings, i dont think they have been used on new games (besides we still see LOD popups in new games, so tesselation is definitely not being used…) besides im talking about the game use, not the tech in professional settings, thats the same as saying SLI isnt dead because pros still use muli-gpus…
