See the little yellow dot next to the PEGI rating? I can’t for the life of me find the actual meaning behind it. Obviously it’s contained to only PEGI game releases, but there’s just no consistent answer as to what PEGI games get the dot and which don’t.
Disproving existing theories:
– it indicates a game is part of a bundle: Hitman 2 has never been part of a console or game bundle deal on the PS4
– it indicates a specific region: these games were all bought in the same region, yet some have the yellow dot and some don’t
– it indicates a PS exclusive title: MediEvil is an exclusive, but doesn’t have the yellow dot
– it indicates a game that requires a PS+ subscription to access all features: GOW III has no network features on PS4, but does have the yellow dot. GTA V does have network features, but doesn’t have the yellow dot
– it indicates that the game is a reprint and not the first release: I pre-ordered Arkham Knight and got it day one, yet it has the yellow dot. Conversely, I bought the remaster of ACIII only recently and it doesn’t have the yellow dot
-it indicates additional specific age warnings: ACIII has additional warnings and no dot
If you have the answer to this perplexing mystery, please share. Much love.

The yellow dot indicates that the game is intended for sale in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
The dot means that the game has English language options, which can be useful for customers who prefer that language. For instance, some UK workers who live in those countries might appreciate this feature.
Which is why you won’t find any covers with the yellow dot in West EU nor USA, unless they been imported.
Sony been using this system since ~2005.
It’s probably a sub region thing because I’ve never had a game with a yellow dot in the UK. So Hitman, Batman and GoW come from a different country than AC3 and medievil.
I’ll add this to the mix.
>The yellow dot is for versions released in the UAE and some other surrounding countries, to show that the game also has English language options. The dot is there for retailers to distinguish for customers that require that option.
There are also varying amounts of other reddit threads discussing this from 2,3,4 years ago. A quick search on “yellow dot ps4 case” will reveal them
According to ChatGPT, “… the yellow dot indicates that the game includes in-game purchases”.
Is that true? I have no clue.
