My current setup is a i7-6700K with a dodgy AiO Cooling,
a GTX 1070 and 32 Gb GDDR4 Ram.

I love the G5 Case..and want to keep it.
Are there any drawbacks thermaly, to upgrade the system upside down?
Don’t judge me for this poor cable management.
Edit: I probably/ severely fucked up the water pump. Thank you guys for shouting out my mistakes.
tbone338
The gpu fans are going to spin such that they stuck air in from the bottom, which would be cooler air because cool air sinks.
Turn it upside down, now it’s sucking in from the top. The difference might not be noticeable, but it could be a thing.
Runiat
If your AIO is a standard design with the pump in the block, you’ll have bubbles gathering in the pump which can easily degrade performance and might even kill it.

RIP your water pump dude.

Lol your pump is fucked

I’m kind of dumbfounded about this g3 case. I mean I’ve always wanted to do that .I think I even have one somewhere. It won’t matter upside down or downside up or as long as the water pump on the block is below the radiator on top of the radiator you’re okay. Life’s too short for cable management. I was thinking if we could get some spiders in there to make some websi might help the aesthetic. I have a nice spider in my kitchen and I try to feed her flies. She’s got a pretty big.
I live alone now so I can have spiders. Rock on man rock on if it works rock on just don’t have that water pump above the top of the radiator and you’re good

BTX configuration. You’ll be fine. Carry on

Just put the case upside down too, problem solved !
Corporal-Monkey
WHY. This is the most cursed setup I’ve ever seen.
1. Not a matched cable in sight
2. Psu is the only thing not upside down but it is facing the wrong way.
3. You made the hole for the PSU extension cable crooked as fuck
4. That AIO just chilling not doing as much as it can
5. You’re missing 3 PCI covers
6. That antenna could be big enough to capture military radio waves or talk to the ISS
7. 1 fan
8. The obvious, why make this if you know everything will be upside down?!
9. It’s disgusting

Nah, just elementary thermodynamics overheating your stuff.

I’m more concerned about the radiator jus hanging out there

Just buy a case bro lol. Fuck they have cases for like 50$

No, but you’ll have to mount your monitors upside down.

Ronyx2021
Only if it causes one of the following problems and those bother you. 1 dot is a problem. 2 dots is a solution to the problem above it.
– Potential cooling issues
–
– Your case looks fine but really consider vertical gpu mount this time
– USB & Other ports may be blocked off by the floor
–
– You can get usb decks that would go in a DVD drive slot and use the headders for the ports that you block off.
– Power switch on bottom doesn’t work well with under desk set ups
–
– You can get an external power button that uses the mobo header
– Heavy GPUs will need a taller support

There is not. For unknown reasons even in the 1990s. Majority of PC cases were opened by removing the left panel when the front faces people.
TactualTransAm
I don’t think there’s an issue with it being upside down. But the cable management is an issue for me lol

Unless water-cooled it’s all good. (i am assuming u would flip it around eventually)
If water-cooled make be careful with the pump and radiator to not form an air pocket in the pump.

tzenrick
Okay OP, people are slamming your shit a bit, and it is fairly within reason.
For a one-off, like this, I like machine screws with nuts, or 1/8″ pop rivets, and 1/2″x1/2″ aluminum angle (and some 1/2″ flat, maybe), for building brackets and custom mounting. Hacksaw, drill, screwdriver, pliers/socket/nutdriver, and some matching spray paint, and you’re in business.
You gotta get that stuff anchored. If you don’t, vibration and gravity will pull something apart.
MoreLessTer
No problem. It’s less common but inverted ATX is a thing and my PC is in inverted case too.
Airflow isn’t really a concern with standard top exhaust as long as there’s decent gap between exhaust fan & GPU. Not optimal but not bad either. The case I’m using has no front intake so I placed top fan as intake. It’ll collect dust for sure so just need to vacuum it up every now and then.
Imo the only real issue with inverted ATX is GPU shroud design is all for standard ATX, which means my RGB Gigabyte logo will always be upside down.
SenKats
Wtf is that tiny ass fan even cooling bruh. Man’s just glad to be part of the team or something i guess lol. The air is gonna barely reach the radiator.
