Was watching the gameplay reveal for old times sake and noticed how the elevators in V’s megabuilding were moving independently, and I really wish that stuck around because it seems like a missed opportunity immersion-wise. When I think about it, V being the only one who uses elevators and no npcs seems strange. I could see it being similar to how the metro is now but more seamless, where you get on and take a ride with npcs and could possibly have little random interactions/events happen. Has anyone else had this thought?

I think mega buildings as a whole were a missed opportunity. It’s nice we were able to see some parts of them in missions and gigs, but our building should have been totally accessible to explore. One for us to see the scale of the building and two to add to realism of these buildings being a mini city that in reality the average night city resident wouldn’t have to leave to go into the dangers of the streets.

They should put everything back as shown in the fake demo on their YouTube channel

The architecture in the game was fascinating.

I DREAMED of having a huge part of the map settled within megabuildings. With whole gangs and “neighborhoods” within. That intro with Trauma Team flying in and showing the sheer verticality made me wanna cyber parkour everywhere

There were so many buildings I tried to get into. There’s some neat places it looks like they had designed for you to get to, but then decided to scrap it. I did a fair amount of exploring up top using the rails, jumps, and reloads.

There are *a lot* of things in that video that were entire fabrications. Best not to dwell on what could’ve been and just wait a year after they release their next title for them to shotgun bandaids on that fuckup too

I have faith the sequel will be the first (?) game to have fully interactive, meaningful buildings. Maybe not every door opens, but the vast majority. Would be necessary if they plan to add verticality, which is a safe bet. Even now it may be that most buildings in NC are used. It’s the rare case where I really hope they keep the same map.

Sadly like half of Cyberpunk 2077 is a missed opportunity
