It was a MadCatz RAT 7 gaming mouse that I had purchased 2013 after selling my at the time brand new pebble watch. it was also the first computer mouse that I had bought before I even had a gaming PC and has been my only mouse since up until today when it finally finally stopped tracking altogether and wouldn’t connect to any computer anymore.

Wow, you had one of these things that didn’t break after 2 months?
You lucked out there. These things almost bankrupted the company.

The RAT was such a funky design. It was a grand shame there was no left-handed version.

Damn i go through a mouse every 1.5 years.

Hey, I have a RAT5 and still using it!
The scroll wheel glitches but overall it works. Oh, and the drivers can’t be installed on Win 11 with Visualization Based Security.

Oh man, my RAT7 died like 10 years ago. I loved that thing.

I’m still using a GM3200 mouse from back in 2007. I am using a replacement after the left button wore out on my original a year or so ago but it’s a great mouse.
I’m glad yours was good. I have ~~one of these~~ the 5 in a drawer. It was easily the worst mouse I ever owned. The tracking was terrible on mine. Though I did like the nice click action, the adjustable palm rest, and removable weights.

I used to get yelled at for using my RAT5 in public. Oh how I loved my first gaming mouse. Heaviest piece of metal I’ve ever had the pleasure of using

I had a RAT 5 and had to finally retire it after 10 years because the tracking started to get really wonky.
A shame, but I like my new G PRO Wireless too

The mouse never had double click issues? That’s what causes me to change my mouse every few years.

I’ve seen railroad cars with wooden seats from the 1930s that looked more comfortable than this.

It wouldn’t have killed you to clean the filth off of it from your grubby hands at least once in a decade.

That’s not a mouse that’s a rat

RIP. It will be a sad day when my RAT 7 MMO dies. I no longer use it for shooters because of its heft, but I love it for MOBA and RTS games.

I hate everything about this mouse.

I had a RAT 9, loved that thing. But shortly after I got it, the left click stopped working. I still have it in a box, in basically new condition. If only I could figure out why the left click started messing up. It “works” but not with every click. Some don’t register, and some are double clicks.
