My ASUA TUF RTX 4090 OC is indeed a brick S*it house… make sure you’re careful moving the PC or when re-arranging components. Some of these cards coolers are so heavy they bend the PCB over time. Or flex a ton from minor movements of your rig.
Get an anti sag bracket or anti sag brace for it just in case. A few bucks can save you a lot.

I bought a dual fan GPU and I thought THAT was kind of big. If I got the triple fan it probably would have reached the other side of my case, if it even fit over the other components. How many gens before graphics cards are just a separate component from the PC tower altogether?

I don’t mind the large size or heavy weight, **but I do mind** the connecting parts being ridiculously weak strength. The pcie-board on the card breaks very easily, it’s impossible to fix and it’s common problem with 4090s. The pcie-slot on the motherboard isn’t much stronger and don’t even get me started on the power cables. I’ve even seen several cards with twisted metal mount, the part that is screwed on to the back of the case.
The cards themselves aren’t that large, it’s the coolers that are humongous

Most of the time such huge coolers aren’t needed or even benefit that much, especially on a 200-300w GPU.
My 3060Ti has a massive 3 fan cooler (MSI gaming z trio) that is utterly overkill.
Companies do this to justify charging the extra money over the MSRP models that feature basically poor quality coolers.

Damn, I’m glad i am looking to upgrade to the 4070 Super, its quite alot smaller and only 2 slot thick, my case is a full tower but not big enough for that pictured big boi.
I really need to upgrade though, my old current pc is 8years old and ran great until a few days ago when, 1 of my Ram sticks just burnt out pulling it down from 24gb ram to 16gb ram. I mean 8 years is still pretty good though.
I wanted to upgrade to the i9 14900K but for affordability i might have to go with the i7 14700K.

Cases that can accomodate the “YTX” mobo form factor could become common. There’s less demand for multiple pcie connectors by gamer consumers lately anyways with SLI dying, wifi/bluetooth being built-in and soundcards moving to USB DACs (if not just using the mobo sound device). Or maybe it goes nowhere. IDK. lol
Bigger cooler systems is mostly what’s causing the thickness of GPUs.

Ah, a fellow TUF user. Yeah, when I got my 4070 Ti out of the box, I was pretty humbled by how huge the thing was. Honestly, I’m wondering if it makes sense for GPU makers to partner with case manufacturers to just create a new type of mounting solution that would permit a “block” GPU instead of hanging the whole thing perpendicularly off the motherboard like they do now. Have something similar in size to a PSU that slides into its own bay and then you attach it via a PCI riser cable or something.
I did like at least that ASUS included an adjustable support post for the thing though. It’s a hefty bastard.
