When I was 9f, I remember my brother (10m) got one while we were on a trip and had it packed in his suitcase (one of those “this is obviously a flimsy, kid-sized suitcase” —we both got them one year for Xmas). We got stopped by TSA (or whatever they were called back then) and my mom had to try to explain how it wasn’t a weapon, while my brother and I went absolutely batshit nuts with excitement over the purchase…loudly talking over my mom and going on about how were we’re gonna use it to shoot monsters and enemies. We both tried to share how we thought it worked—one of us being monstrous and the other fake shooting. **Insert child attempts at “rawr”, “pchew-pchew” and explosive sound effects**
They let us pass with the super scope, but it felt like it took 20 or so minutes of my mom constantly shushing us.

Still not PowerGlove cool, though.

I have vivid memories of thinking that was the coolest way to play games as a kid. As an adult now that’s probably the one piece of retro equipment I wish I still had.
Evilhydra2
Was certainly not wrong. I could only admire those kids

One of my fondest memories is going to toys r Us with my dad getting this and the largest TV he could find. I can’t remember playing it. Just the purchase event stands out to me. Thanks dad

One of the coolest, I had one too. I remember only ever seeing like 2 other games you could use it with but it was fine with the 6 it came with.
hegaT90
You’d be the coolest kid in my world.
Great_White_Samurai
The game where you shot Gundam robots was pretty sick
Itslidds

Weneeddietbleach
I always wanted one, but there were only like -what- 2 games that used it?
OtterPops89
Damn I miss those gimmicky old game accessories. You could almost have more fun with them than the actual games sometimes. Just take them outside with you, a few friends and a bit of imagination and You’ve got yourself a cyborg uprising or alien invasion XD
ZanoCat
No you weren’t. Excellent times!
ManofGod1000
Nah, back then, that was the cool. 🙂 Nowadays, not so much, only because nothing like that is available, that I am aware of.
