Dude is such a nerd and I’m glad he is

  2. Raoul_Duke9

I absolutely adore Henry but he says this about a lot of his projects. Superman. The Witcher. This.

  3. Raven_Crows

Please be good, please be good, please be good…

And for the love of the Emperor don’t be PG-13.

  4. LiquidRaekan

This pleases the God Emperor of Mankind, Henry, very wise of you to be on his good side.

I’m so fucking excited for this series. I have no idea when it will be placed, but of all the show runners that could have nabbed it I’m grateful it’s in Henry’s hands. He’s a fanboy at heart with the talent and knowledge to back it up.

  6. spaceraingame

I just really hope this movie comes out in theaters.

  7. leroyp33

I am not even into Warhammer but this is a must see. He loves it too much for it not to be great

  8. WntrTmpst

I wish they didn’t boot him from the Witcher. He was the literal perfect Witcher and uptight writers ego got him booted

Edit: I’m aware he didn’t get kicked and left after his contract ended. But he’s on record saying he would have stayed, and wanted to stay, but the writers were too far up their own ass to hear anything negative about their show

  9. GregorSamsaa

At least he’s got producer credits on this one which may help give him more of a voice regarding quality and interpretation of the material so it’s not a repeat of the Witcher

  10. zaalqartveli

He’s WAAAY to passionate about 40,000.

Hopefully this won’t drive him into a ” FUCK OFF – ONLY I KNOW HOW TO HANDLE THIS!!!” corner.

All I’m going to say is if they decide to do it live action it will be a HUGE mistake. This universe is based off of sheer lunacy when it comes to the battles and sizes of units. With a big budget, CGI is a MUST to really do it justice.

  12. NamedUserOfReddit

The show needs to rated R in order to actually reflect the material it’s based on… Sure hope Dan Abnett is in charge of the writing.

It’s a real honor to put something to screen that’s been a favorite of many people for nearly 40 years. I can’t wait.

  14. RandomGameCritic

He deserves it. This man is a huge nerd with tons of passion for every project that he’s a part of, but he keeps getting sucked into productions that are either completely incompetent or outright hate the source material they’re adapting.

  15. Indiana-Cook

I don’t really know anything about Warhammer but I am intrigued

  16. 0rganicMach1ne

I can’t wait to see what he does with it. I hope it is good and does well because the potential is massive.

  17. CaptainMoogan

First episode, Tuska Demon Killer and the boyz have a good ole time with the gellar field off. Let’s just dive straight into the deep end.

  18. captsmokeywork

Guy is a true geek hero.

    Needs of the world unite.

  19. Sabbathius

I’m curious to see how he does.

He’s very passionate about it and actually played with the stuff. But there’s no guarantee he’ll be a good filmmaker just because he’s into the source material.

    Definitely hopeful though.

  20. Bob_Juan_Santos

gimme some Tau and eldar contents please

  21. Weltraumbaer

If there’s one mainstream famous actor I would entrust the Warhammer 40,000 universe, it is this guy. [Watching him talk about Warhammer 40,000 was prove enough that he’ll deem himself worthy of the Emperor’s blessings.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0Lrr2uS6t8)

It’s not surprising to see him going for Custodes. Dude is built like one.

  22. Bob_Juan_Santos

is he gonna play Robbie G? some say he’s gonne play as the emperah, but i can’t see Henry Cavill as a rotting corpse sitting a throne of tubes

  23. GreenLanternCorps

So this is actually happening? I had just gotten over hope too.

  24. Michael_McGovern

It’s a weird franchise to adapt because you need a massive budget to do it justice, but at the same time the content is so bleak and hopeless to the point it might have more than its hardcore fanbase watching it.

  25. Rodan-Lewarx

For sure he could be even here as a random user lol

  26. an0nym0ose

He was the best part of the Witcher, and it was reportedly better for having him in it. He apparently acted as a story consultant, having familiarity with the characters, and pushing for changes based on that.

So he’s clearly got a passion for storytelling accuracy and faithfulness to the source material, *and* this is his favorite canonical universe. If he gets enough creative control, this could be fucking excellent.

  27. I just don’t know how they can do it justice. The biggest obstacle in my mind is that in warhammer the fascists are the good guys.

  28. Rodan-Lewarx

Besides W40k and witcher, what more games he really loves?

  29. Bagel_enthusiast_192

On the one hand a warhammer 40k movie would be sick but on the other hand it could make 40k too mainstream

  30. Trips-Over-Tail

First episode is a lore-acurate deep dive into Slaanesh.

  31. External-Fig9754

Please please please don’t let the showrunner fucking fuck it

  32. DeLongJohnSilver

I hope they don’t fumble it and take it one project at a time. Plan a trilogy, sure, but don’t forget each movie along the way. For example, start with a trilogy about the Horas Heresy, establish the imperium at its height will cementing the cracks in the foundation, which widen until the final movie is the tragedy of a man killing his own son due to his hubris only to become glorified infrastructure, repeating the failings of the xenos forebears he so despised.

Then move into the pit of dispare that is 40k. Do what Marvel won’t and change the world and have consequences on the grand stage after establishing the framework. We don’t want the same thing over and over, we want change and to disparage those changes.

  33. Time-to-go-home

How would one get into Warhammer? I don’t think I have the budget, friends, or time to actually play the tabletop game. What are other good 40k media that I can try out to get hyped for this show? Videogames? Books?

  34. semitope

He’s not a good actor. How is that going to work? Or is the character a fitting one?

  35. Second-Bulk

Should’ve been The Witcher. The butchering of the Witcher series makes my blood boil.
