This isn’t the death of xbox. It’s just more revenue. People aren’t buying xbox for just “exclusives” as they barely exist. They buy it for the seamless ecosystem of their devices.
Not to mention you make more money off of peripherals and software, not the hardware.
They could also be playing the long con with all the studios they bought up, and use this to get PS people’s foot in the door before they pull the rug.

Let’s not forget who’s the trillion dollar software company that owns COD, Minecraft, Candy Crush, Halo, Forza, Gears, and everything Bethesda, Activision, Rare, etc, have ever made, and a crazy good backwards compatibility emulator, *and has a ton of options on what hardware they will run their software and services*. And who’s the smaller hardware manufacturer that **needs** software and services to sell their hardware. If both Sony and Microsoft were to close up their hardware divisions today and (let’s say) publish on Steam, Sony would have Spider-Man, God of War, and some AA games like Horizon while Microsoft would have the top 5 biggest games in the world with only GTA and Fortnite being in the mix. Pretty ironic for a company that gets praise for exclusives.
