This would probably be more accurate with the “Future/Rich” figure having a chip in their head or something. Goggles will be a sign of being too broke to afford the in-skull computer systems that automatically grant you whatever your hearts desire is by linking directly into your bank account and spending your money on things you only barely realize you want.

Poor people still existed in the 60s too. And had way less stuff.

I think its more everyone will use VR/AR, it’ll just be a distinction of higher/lower quality, or wearables vs implants.
Not using any will be the preserve of those weirdos who value things like privacy and the real world.

Won’t be a pure class thing. The class differences will allow people to express their lifestyle preferences differently.
A poor person who enjoys hunting and real life may just go to a nearby camp two weeks out of the year. A rich person can afford out of country trips to exotic locations to larp being a big game hunter.
Both the poor and rich can succumb social media addiction. What is different is how they express it.
What is Jay Leno but a car enthusiast and collector who can afford nice cars in a great garage? Someone poorer may settle into many cars in their yard that they are gradually repairing themselves.
With tech like this, desk computers for the “poor” now, VR headsets for the rich now. In the future the poor will be able to afford the headsets while the rich move onto glasses, smart “contacts” or implants instead.

I feel that people who say “ I wish I was born In the 60’s” would automatically take it back if their were given a chance to live in the 60’s for even a couple of days let alone a year, y’all gonna be begging to time travel back to the future lol

Fun fact, through credit cards, and poor financial decisions, you too can appear rich with your dumbass headset.
