Metal Gear Solid V is still one of the best stealth games

It was an absolutely fantastic game, but man you could tell there was so much more that got cut for time/resources.

I always loved the intensity of sprinting in this game for whatever reason.

Idk what it was but even just sprinting is this game was awesome feeling lol

I’m working through all the mgs games right now and I’m looking forward to playing V again.

One of the best games, period. Gameplay so good I didn’t care that the story was nonsensical and incomplete. Probably my favorite game ever.

What do you mean?? I can clearly see him.

  5. “you took down the skulls, you really are big boss”

first timer: yeah, it’s in the name, why are you surprised?

Second timer: oooooh, I see what you mean.

People often forget the freedom that this games gives you and how the world react to your approach to it.

Only hitting heatshots? – gives everyone helmets.
Only attacking at night? – gives everyone night vision googles.
Only comming hot and heavy? – gives everyone full body armor.

Imagine if kojima were allowed by greedy Konami to fulfill his vision to the end… We would have the ultimate sandbox.

  7. Blasting “Helikoter, Helikopter” on chopper’s speaker🗣📢📢🔥🔥

One of the best games ever made, IMO. The level of detail is hat went into every decision was just insane to me. Yes, ending kinda was meh, but didn’t detract from the overall experience in the slightest.

  9. On PC you could do custom music for your attack heli. Fond memories of it flying in and hearing “America, Fuck Yeah” in the distance. You’d just hear, “AMERICA” a few times in the distance then BAM! “AMERICA! FUCK YA!” and it’s merking mercs left and right.

  10. Hilarious that it went from heavily story driven, like 50% cutscenes, into an open world gameplay masterpiece with story as a complete secondary.

The online component of that game is severely underrated.

Absolutely is. MGS4 is still my favorite. The sheer scale of the game is unbelievable and still stands today as the most ambitious single player shooter IMO. But the sheer amount of insanity and ways to get around things in MGS5 is insane lol. You can easily drop [1000 hours into the game](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4e7ibdS7xU)

  13. Best metal gear solid gameplay by far the freedom and openness of it. The way the enemies behave and the way the world adapts and evolves as you continue just great stuff all around. Sadly that got bundled with a step back in the story telling and production that the series had become famous for. Konami really stepped on this one. Still an amazing game but just imagine if they hadn’t.

True sandbox. Could attack bases anyway you want. Helicopter gunship? Missile? Naked assassin? Sure! Want a dog too?

I enjoyed it immensely, but I only played it once.

  16. I am sad that David Hayter was not doing the dub in this one.

Also one of the best optimazed games ever it played on so many things

  18. Alpacalypse123

Ah shit, now I need to play it again…

  19. Cybralisk

Best gameplay/world in the series, was a shame the entire second half of the game is just the same missions with a higher difficulty and almost no cutscenes to speak of.

  20. People complain about the game being unfinished… and they are right, the Liquid story arc was removed from the game. But it’s misleading to say the game “doesn’t have an ending”.

You have the first “casual ending” where you fight the Metal Gear, then the game lets you keep playing and a lot of new things happen in that “extra” chapter, there are many meaningful events at Mother Base and also the “other ending”. If you keep playing there’s also the “true ending” with the revelation about Big Boss.

Aside from that you also have some “minor endings” like Quiet’s story ending and things like that.

In the end what is missing is one of those “extra endings”, but the game itself is pretty much complete. Honestly, it has twice the content of most other games released that year so take it with a grain of salt when someone says that “MGSV is bad because it’s unfinished”, especially from people who didn’t play it.

I’ll never forget harassing outposts and listening to them spiral into madness

  22. This game had probably the most polished controls / mechanics I’ve ever played. It’s disappointing to play other games like Hitman, and then you think to yourself “damnit, why can’t the controls be as good as MGSV?”

  23. Thankyouhappy

Graphics are impressive for the PS4, I can’t wait to see what they’ll look like on the PS5

  24. iguaninos2

I love that I can pickup and play this game whenever and it always feels intuitive. Fantastic game design.

  25. Scoobydewdoo

Eh, I think it’s a really good open world game but when you have to replay the levels with a more stealth focus the game-play becomes a lot less fun.

  26. sinnroth94

This for me would have been the greatest game I’ve ever played if they had given it the time to give it a full proper ending.

  27. trentanious

Damn. I may have to download this action again soon. I absolutely loved this game
