This is just a concept I made, based on games that GOG.com offers, DRM free, and downloadable for later installation, without a need for internet connection.
You get the whole game on a USB stick, in a box, with a manual etc.
But, most importantly, it is yours, and you can install it when ever you want – since you have a physical media!

Reason why developers stopped doing boxed games is because stores like Gamestop would charge them money to put the game ion the store, and also the cost of developing the artwork to make it appealing and stuff.
Also publishers are greedy and want the most money possible and giving people freedom costs them money.
What’s the USB drive’s lifespan compared to optical discs?
So more materials that end up in a landfill?
I’m good, I’m already pushing the limits of what my garbage can is able to handle as-is.
With Box and DRM free would be great
The Blake Stone cover reminds a lot of the Mega Man 1 and 2 US cover.
People aren’t even willing to pay for the digital prices for games (which are excellent when compared to the production quality of games now vs the past). I’m all for people getting nice physical releases if they want, but I truly doubt they’ll pay for the cost of it especially in this subreddit that values hardware way way more than software (to the point where many brag about stealing software).
Oof they will never give you a solid copy of a game ever again. You are not allowed to own anything, just lease it.

There’s no reason for games to exist in physical form, enough with that, no more waste.
Physical media does not mean what you think it means, nor is that what you get when you buy the physical copy of a game.

Nope, more waste and I would never pay the extra for a 256GB USB Stick.
There’s enough junk in landfills and all of that will end up there someday. It’s time to accept the age you live in. Besides digital games allow family/friend sharing for use at the same time. How long until disc readers are gone all together.
