Now it’s serious. How many fps can you see?

A lot of people can’t tell the difference between 90 and 120 FPS and most can’t see any improved smoothness going from 120 to 144 for example.

That’s not to say you won’t see any motion clarity increases, you just see diminishing returns in smoothness past 90 FPS.

Motion clarity is the biggest driving factor for going to 144Hz and higher. I’ve personally never seen a 240Hz+ display in person but I wonder how the ghosting looks on it for fast objects

In most games at about 80 I stop noticing. Unless I’m flinging the screen around like a maniac in some fps

  3. Schneeball238

i used to be ok with most framerates but nowadays everytime a game is running at 30 fps i get very disoriented

In games like call of duty I can notice the diff btwn 100 and 144 hz. In elden ring and Ds3 I hardly noticed it was 60hz

  5. From 60 to 120 easy. From 120 to 165 very hard.

Maybe it’s the funny brain chemicals but 140 FPS feels much nicer than 100 FPS.

but I often just lock games around 100 FPS if I can

  7. I’ve got two 240Hz monitors on my desk. I can see a clear difference between them in how smooth and responsive they are just because one is OLED and the other is not. 240Hz OLED is most often compared to 360Hz LCD in that regard.

There is one thing not considering the increase in smoothness and responsiveness worth its cost, but when someone says he “can’t see the difference” I assume he’s either trolling, lying or blind.

Most people don’t see a difference after 120-144. A big factor as well is the quality of the panel, the same refresh rate can look different if the panel is shitty

  9. TheTransistorMan

Cowards. Get a 30 Hz monitor like a *real* gamer.

  10. ______________fuck

I have a 165 hz monitor but i cant tell the difference between 144 and 165

  12. Pani_Duchesse_Kalos

    human don’t see in fps

    goddamn people are retarded

  13. Normal people see like 60fps, but I can see 6969 FPS with you babe.

  14. Bobhopbob

this meme is incorect, the people who comment this are only 30 year old, 300lb, neckbearded men living in there mothers basement

  15. saradahokage1212

im scared to buy a 1440p 144hz monitor myself. People are saying it ruined everything for them because they cant go back anymore because 1080 60hz looks so bad to them.

  16. Pure-Ad6918

I see the difference between 120 and 240 Hz so I guess I see 240 Hz

  17. SufficientProperty31

Not sure how many fps I can see, but I do know when I switched from an old 60Hz monitor to a 165Hz monitor last year it has been a world of difference in how smooth eveything looks.
Fps I see enough to notice a game is slow/stuttering when it gets in the 30-40 range if its usually higher

  18. AffectionatePin2156

I don’t allow myself to see over 60. Cuz once you go higher then 60 seems like 30. Which is too expensive

  19. Shmimbadad

In my experience, I can SEE the choppiness of anything below 60, and can see the improvement clearly up to 100-120ish. Above that is more for the feeling of responsiveness than anything visual. If I’m watching somebody else play, I’m not gonna see a difference from 120 to 165. But if I sit down and take the mouse myself and start looking around, I’ll FEEL it instantly

  20. Nuckyduck

Going from 60 to 144 was obvious. Haven’t gone higher yet.

  21. coyotepetersun

“The human eye can only see 24 fps” mfs when i show them 24 fps in VR (they get motion sick instantly)

  22. SendHandPicsPls

After 140 fps i cant even Tell the diference, but between 30 and 90 there is a CLEAR diference for me

  23. That 24fps thing is such bullshit lol. It takes so many factors for granted.

  24. Oscarmayers3141

    i can percive a diference betwen 120 and 164

  25. INeedANerf

The people who claim you can’t see a difference between 30 and 60 are smoking crack.
