Of all the things I did in the hundreds of hours I’ve clocked on Crusader Kings 2 & 3, I just realized I’ve never actually gone Crusading. I’d usually just chuck some money at the Pope and carry on with my business.
I always felt there were better uses of my time and manpower than to traipse halfway across the Mediterranean to beat up Muslims and MAYBE get a bit of land that will be isolated, overextended, rebellious, and ultimately more trouble than it’s worth.
Reconquista in Spain, on the other hand…
