This looks like something out of Night City

Well, Memezar, the problem with trees is that it’s hard to embezzle $300,000 per unit with a tree.

Its because the roots mess up the streets and sidewalk, if anyone is wondering.

these are way more ffective at making oxygen but i am going to be very upset if they remove the little bits of nature we have on the city and replace it with the fucking cyberpunk algea box

  4. Why one big tree when you could have a trillion tiny trees plus make shareholders happy?

Although this looks dystopian, its actually alot better at recycling carbon dioxide than trees are from what ive heard

  6. Maintenance mostly… between the roots ripping up the sidewalks, the constant trimming to keep it away from streets and powerlines, but also (particularly in high crime areas) they cut down the trees so police (and potential victims) have better visibility. City planners have to incorporate crime into the layout of neighborhoods now. This the world we live in.

We’ve had this circulating before but there’s a few things to know about this

It was part of a contest in order to find better ways of carbon capture and it won. The system is nearly self sustaining and only needs maintenance like once a month. While it does pull more carbon than the average tree it isn’t meant to replace them and was an interesting experiment but this can be used in places where planting trees isn’t possible. It also provides a light so it can be used in place of street lamps

I am arguibly and laughably super qualified to answer this because I spent months researching something similar to build. I abandoned the porject after a lot of calculations and research showed it was not feasible and a total scam.

For some reason pop culture and media have left people to believe that algea are responsible for a lot of the oxygen production in tbe atmosphere. It is actually phytoplankton that supply 50% of the oxygen on earth.

Algea are shit at using resources efficiently and overgrow in these environments to where they clog everything.
