Sorry man. š can pay someone to fix the 3090, or get a new gpu like a 4070ti super or a 7900xt(xtx)
Since it’s EVGA, I’d contact them and see what happens.
6months old? Still have warranty on that card right ?
Pretty sure EVGA warranty follows the item not the purchaser. They have great customer service. I doubt theyāll leave you with a dead card as long as you didnāt take it apart and potentially cause the issue. Probably get a warranty stock 3090 if not a refund for msrp since they no longer make GPUs.
Absolutely should contact EVGA on this, the warranty transfers with the new owner.
If warranty wonāt cover it my buddy was just telling me about a guy he met on the US west coast that repairs GPUs. Thereās probably others out there too.

Itās still under second hand warranty, but if the backplate s/n doesnāt match the sticker on the pcb which it doesnāt look like it does they will deny it. I had one denied because my sticker fell off which is understandable
off topic but jesus christ that bottom of the gpu chip looks terrifying and gives me the icks. reminds of that one video of a tick infested animal i once saw…

Were you keeping an eye on the memory junction temps of the VRAM?

Call EVGA. They have awesome customer service. I hope they make GPUs again some day. Every gpu Iāve ever had was EVGA.
You probably bought a used mining gpu that wasn’t undervolted and taken cared off properly…
Cantact EVGA, they have pretty good customer service and have come through for a lot of people. Worst that happens is that you are told no.
Man I just got a promotion and a raise. I didnāt even consider the possibility that I can upgrade my gpu now
Okay so you included the serial number in the photo. Evga website says you still have 207 days left in the warranty. Evga allows secondhand purchases for warranty. They are still honoring warranties. Send it in. See photo.

Contact evga. I had a brand new 3090 ti that died on me after having it for only 2-3 months. Evga had me send it back, got it checked and approved then got sent a new one. Entire process took like a week and a half

I just had my EVGA 3080 die last month and warranty covered it. I had it for a little over a year and i didnt register the card till i was filling out the warranty. Super easy and saved me a grand by not buying a new card.
If EVGA can’t fix or replace it first, then maybe they would refund?
I was just thinking how much I miss EVGA being in the game. The FTW3 was the greatest gpu design of all time, and EVGA was an awesome company. Also their unreleased 4090 looked like the best as well. RIP and sorry for your loss
On a side note, man EVGA cards are such a beaut… Sucks that NVIDIA were complete assholes to such a great partner.

Your serial numbers on the pcb and the backplate donāt match. Thereās a good chance Itāll be declined for RMA service.

I don’t know about the weird colors BUT I had those boxes appear on my RTX 3080. It was a bad driver for the GPU I haven’t checked much of this post but make sure you double check everything else including software plus cables because it’s the exact same issue that I had.

It was a weird reason as well, because I was using two monitors that one had 165hz and the other 144hz while youtube was opened plus something else. Very specific I know but after a driver update it went away.
Really hope that might be the case
