That’s okay, the big price cut is what matters.

Just secured an Asus TUF 4080S for myself at MSRP, returning my regular RTX 4080 asap!

    No, you don’t say ?

They literally added 500 shading units and called it a day. What were you expecting ?

The biggest selling point of the 4080 Super is the 200$ price cut.

  3. Visara57

Yes, still very expensive for what it is but a step in the right direction

  4. SoDrunkRightNow2

100% more expensive than a 4070 and 10% more performance!!!

The 4080 has always been a bad buy. You wont hear anyone defend that card unless they own one and they’re in denial lol.

  5. Fideriks1

It’s a glorified price cut for the original 4080, I thought it was obvious from the specs, even Nvidia said so

No 3090 or 2080 super. The exact cards I want comparisons for lulul

  7. David0ne86

    It was well known lol.

What’s funny is that outside the NA region, we haven’t seen any cuts here in europe lol. They just have the same price as the old 4080.

  8. 4K fps ratings is not a correct way of comparing cards performances, especially for people who wont use 4K. A card might perform worse than another card in 4K but can be far better in lower res.

and there AMD cards in the lists so stuff like DLSS should be excluded for fair comparison which I doubt it is done in this one.

  9. Factualx

It’s a price cut for the same if not slightly better performance. Are we acting like this is a bad thing?

  10. JellyfishInfamous870

Same with the 4070 ti and ti super

  11. Darth-Zoolu

Imagine releasing a new card that still gets beat by its direct competitor from a year ago. Now imagine people buying that card like hotcakes lol

  12. Beneficial-Plum-1085

They didn’t want to cut the price of the 4080 so they introduced a new sque to do it

  13. shitgottachangename

Oh no, a cheaper card that is barely faster.

  14. How does the 3090 24G compare to the RTX 4080/4090?
I’m wondering if it’s worth considering the upgrade later down this year.

  15. warjack20180

I’m more interested in how AMD Responds

Hopefully 7900XTX Price Cuts to complete with the 4070 ti Super.

  16. scanguy25

Maybe I’m out of the loop, I thought the SUPER line was the more budget friendly version of the original card?

Like 10% slower but 20% cheaper?

  17. TatteredPatches

Which we were all aware of. This isn’t news. Slightly more CUDA and a 200 dollar price cut, making it a *slightly* less insane thing to purchase.

  18. ahrikitsune

It’s a big disappointment still, nvidia fanboys will defend it though.

  19. Why nobody compares to 3090 anymore? Its not that old..

  20. KingLuis

looking at the graph and seeing the prices, why not just get a 7900xtx?? with AMD coming with the AFMF tech soon, should bring a boost to performance too making it even better. probably puts the 7900xt at the same performance as the 4080S

  21. etfvidal

At least it’s cheaper! I’m actually shocked that Nvidia dropped the price because they are usually the worst company at doing that unless there is an uproar like what happened with the cancelled 12GB 4080 that was supposed to launch at $799!

  22. 4090 is still the best purchase I’ve made. Miles ahead of the rest of the competition

  23. Buying a 4080 instead of a 7900XTX is plain stupidity

  24. Who makes these graphs? Such poor design choices. Very difficult to correlate the value to the entry as all the bars are completely the same, not even an alternating color background.

  25. MorRochben

Is the radeon 7900XTX really that good? Is see them priced cheaper than the rtx 4080

  26. DarthAlfie

I was originally going to get a 4070 Ti Super, coming from a 3070. However the performance of that just wasn’t worth it.

I have now just bought a 4080 super though, for £200 less than a regular 4080.

Looking forward to finally playing Alan Wake 2 tomorrow!

  27. MassLuca007

IMO, AMD wins this generation. Maybe not in sales or peak performance, put in value and price point.

The 4070ti Super is the same price as the 7900xtx, at least where I live. That’s a no brainer for almost anyone; the second fastest GPU on the market is priced the same as the 6th… and the 7900xt is still faster, and the 7800xt is better value over a 4070/ 4070s.

Also still calling it, AMD is going to drop the 7900xtx by 50 or 100 bucks tomorrow

Secured my 4080 Super founders edition. This is my first reference card and my first graphics card in 7 years. Super excited to build my new PC soon

  29. PoppinfreshOG

I thought everyone with a brain was avoiding this generation of GPUs? We all already know they are fucking shit
