First post, long time lurker! Should I put my pc on the floor or keep it on the desk? Trying to weigh dust problems vs extra desk space. Also planning on upgrading my mic so I don’t have to squish the legs between my keyboard and wrist rest. Any other thoughts or suggestions?

  1. Regardless of desk size, I prefer pc on floor or at least not stealing my desk. You’ve got a hard floor so no issue, but if a person had carpet then on some sort of platform.

I would get the all-mighty Alec drawer for the pc

Absolutely put it on the floor.

BTW lovely to see someone who has the same xda matcha keycaps as I do with the leaves for direction arrows!

I put mine on the floor rack and I miss gazing lovingly at its beautiful inside parts.

Space be damned, I keep it on my desk. I paid for an unholy amount of RGB, and I want to see it at all times. That, and I have a long hair cat, so it’ll be drowned in cat hair after like 3 hours.

  6. What are those speakers? I love the look of those

I just bought the 40 inch setup and ill be running the PC on the desk lol

  8. i got an alex storage unit from ikea to put my pc on top of that without taking room from my desk but still have it on top

  9. I would personally invest and reuse what’s possible to reuse from that rig and get myself a mini itx case. It clears the desk space a lot and I know the pain of wanting to show off your build but not having the space to do so. I mean, basically I was in the same situation as you were and now I’m way happier and my desk has breathing room. I went for the CM NR200P MAX but I recommend spending more in your case since you really need mouse space as I can see and the nr200p max has around the same width as your current case, maybe a bit smaller so I would go for the FormD T1, but if not, the LianLi A4-H2O is also a good option.

However, this is just my opinion. If you like a mid tower for your pc build, I would prioritize mouse space over looks and put the pc on the floor. If your floor is carpet, please put it on a piece of wood otherwise your power supply will suffer. Another alternative is to buy a separate pc open-air cabinet to put besides your desk.

The air is colder on the floor. Usually. Personally I dont like it on the desk. I find the lights, sounds, etc a distraction.

Mine’s on my desk, but I’m ready to go on platform on the floor. That extra real estate sounds nice.

If you’re rocking a 570X like that one, you should put it on your desk. It deserves to be. No way people saying it should go on the floor are right in their minds lol. It’ll get dusty real quick with all those removable panels.

Also, here in The Netherlands (maybe even Europe?) that case is currently no longer available, so the case itself is worth too much to put it under your desk!

I’m 110% putting any PC on the floor, unless it’s a Mac Studio or something.

They take up desk space, and they’re just annoying. I’d do it even if it was a piece of art. That or put it on another table

I’m personally gonna keep my PC on my desk but it’s just personal preference. I really like your taste in keyboards. That light green color looking beautiful. Also like your wallpaper choice. Are those white spheres like speakers or something? The only thing I would do is change the wood type on the desk to something in a shade a bit darker, but that’s just me. Plant on the left is nice too btw!

Oof! Ok, tough decision cause who doesn’t want to stare at that beauty occasionally!

I have one of these and the underdesk mount for your PC is great, can’t recommend enough. I’m not a fan of pc directly on the floor, so at the very least I recommend you get a raised platform, with some sort of rubber padding on its feet for shock/vibration absorption to protect your investment

I suggest that you can personally weld a rack for the lifting host and invert it on the backside of the desk.

I apologize, but there are no images available for reference. This messaging feature does not support image uploads.

I would like it on my desk but I also like my studio monitors on my desk so that does not really leave me enough space for it to be on my desk.
