It’s so bad my eyes hurt. Once you go above 60 you can’t go back
Long-Ad8374
For games like Tropico 6 and power washing simulator, yes 30 fps for me is fine. But First person shooter and AAA games, 60fps always.
Einkar_E
25 is playable
Coach_McGuirk__
honestly after going to 144hz years ago even 60 fps feels laggy/hurts to look at.
advocateforpain
Well technically 15fps is playable too. So what?
David0ne86
Nah. After years of playing 60 fps i could never go back to 30. Anyone that says the opposite is just smoking that good copium.
KerbodynamicX
Depends on the type of game. A strategy game don’t need high FPS, a turn based game even more so.
Exotic_Inspector_111
As someone who owns a 4090: Absofuckinglutely not.
PhuckWar
2fps is also playable but its shit just like 30
Nir_Auris
I didn’t think 30fps are bad until I build my PC (before I just played on ps4 and an office laptop), 60+fps… I don’t want to go back
Philip_Raven
nobody ever said 30fps is unplayable, stop making up arguments.
Efthimis
Saying that 30FPS is playable is like saying that an uncooked potato is edible. It’s technically true but…do you really want to eat that?
VNilla_
30fps is bad. 60fps is okay, but still feels choppy to me. 90 is when it starts to feel smooth.
efyuar
I played world of warcraft at 60 fps when I first started. Each expansion i lost like 5 fps. Up untill laat year i was playing with 25fps and thought i should upgrade because you know, still achieving my goals, i could do better. Got an i7, 4070rtx ssd and all that specs to finally hit 144fps only to realize fps wasnt the issue for my performance
Expired_Milk02
I don’t mind anything as long as it’s near 60FPS
THiedldleoR
some games maybe, but generally no.
any game that involves direct player movement needs 60FPS at the least. strategy games, turn based games and such are probably ok at 30FPS.
“playable” is a stetchy term that doesn’t carry any meaning in terms of quality or enjoyment. A game is playable if it doesn’t break, which could either be a technical “break” as in mechanics don’t work as intended because e.g. the game speed is linked to framerate or a subjective “break” because the frame lag is so bad you miss(time) inputs.
AffectionatePin2156
Its acceptable on small screens

I need at least 70-100fps in single player games and 120+ in multiplayer
AwiiWasTakenWasTaken
every FPS is playable if you have enough patience
SirPigeon69
1 fps is playable, just not for more than 1/60th of a second
TheRealMeeBacon
Depends on the game, for totk and botw I’m fine at 30fps. But competitive multiplayer I would like 60.
Albatroza
Depends on game but I dont like below 3 digits, playing NieR Replicant hurt mu eyes sometimes because its not optimized, I getting around 55-60 fps
I know game is capped 60, my problem is stuttering and drops
ItsIllegalToDoCrime
i used to be able to play on anything aboth 20 fps. Now i notice id below 45 fps.
Its funny how its evolving, yet most movies are captured in 24, 30 or sometimes 12 fps and nobody bats an eye.
Epsilia
So playable it gives me migraines.
Darth-Zoolu
30 frames per second is absolutely not playable. I literally got rid of my series x because I wasn’t gonna play Starfield at 30 fps!
unia_
The only game I’ve been able to play at 30fps is RDR2. No idea why but the FPS never seemed like 30fps. I’ve seen a common trend with people thinking rdr2 on the PS5 is 60 when it’s still 30. I think the animations are just awesome
Legoeggolas
Not for me, man. Low frame rates make me nauseous and I can’t help it.
AejiGamez
Depends on the game. Some strategy stuff sure, but not for multiplayer shooters
Rasty_lv
is it playable? yes. But once you go over 120, even 60 looks laggy, painfull to look at..
Enelro
Feels like garbage.
houndrednailwarrior
Some people are crazy here.
Aryan_RG22
THAT, depends on the game. I’m a rhythm gamer. 30fps is playable, if I wanted to play myself.
MatiX_1234
I played on 30 frames for most of my life. Was I fine? Yes. Would I be now? No, absolutely not, now that I got used to 60. It’s all a matter of getting used to it
MysteriousDrStranger
I notice a difference even between 50 and 60 fps, but it feels bad playing at such a low frame rates. It’s kinda like having wrong mouse sensitivity, just make me sick.

As a person who ‘s playing the Resident Evil games (remastered 2 and 7, DX11. No, I’m not a pussy. Just trying to not make a bomb here) on an Intel Iris Xe (integrated), this sentenced could not be further than the truth.
Sharp-Theory-9170
Those “30 fps bad” posts are always the same thing
> “60/120/144fps is much better”
Yeah who’s saying otherwise
> “60/30 fps feels chopper/laggier to me after 120/144 fps”
Then don’t play at 30/60 (if possible)
> “30/60 fps is unplayable”
Read the second answer, plus it’s fine for most people if what they’re playing doesn’t require high responsiveness
mazae12
Me as lowspec gamer seeing people whining 30 fps is undesirable: weakness disgusts me.
ALAS_002
i hate to be that guy but a lot more goes into playability than just frame rate. you can have great frame rate but if your frame times are 2000ms or you have really bad screen tearing it will be unplayable.
Either-Technician594
No, 60 is playable. 30 is still too stuttery for me, it’s fine for a movie or video but not for videogames
