The question probably scales with level the same way the stat checks scale even though the reward doesnt. She asked me for 20k ish if im remembering right and I just offed her and took the location from her computer.
Nix is sorta playing you with this one, and R3no is 100% asking way more than you can get. The values might be a bit adjusted by the leveling stuff, but you can get most of your money back with the Intelligence dialogue option at the end. Nix will be kinda mad at you for doing it though.
Some gig the pay money change I don’t know why but change. In “Spellbound” I kill the girl the money is same in the end
I have to imagine the mission is bugged since Nix gives you the shaft. If it was any other random NPC then I could understand it, but Nix should be a bit more honest with you and V would probably chew him out for scamming them.
As it stands, I usually convince the seller to give me a discount. And I make a profit from Nix, all be it a small one.
Also, dang. I don’t recall ever seeing the starting price that high. I thought it was closer to 20k, with me taking her down to like 5k.
I love so much about 2.1, most of it’s great. They added and fixed so much but some things ain’t quite right.. the money and skill check scaling, implemented as is, quite simply leads to nonsensical outcomes. Should have been untouched or tested/fixed way more.
Not all the choices in the game benefit you, this is a situation where it’s better to just take it through force
Certain questions requirements scale with level. It’s not a huge deal for money but when it comes to stats it can be an issue, it can lock you out of certain quests or quest paths. So far I’ve always been ablento find a way around locked doors but I’m not sure if that’s always true. The Brendan quest also scales but even at max level a pair of gorilla arms is enough to move the dumpster

It scales on level. I noticed this on my missions, not just this one. On my first run, a lot of my missions were taken late around 55 to 60. On my 2nd run, I took the gigs immediately when they are available, and to my surprise, most of the gigs that cost money had a significantly lower cost. The only thing I can think of is because V on my 2nd run had a lower level (between levels 25 and 30)

Before 2.0. that mission worked, but then scaling hit. It completely demolished that mission. Payment scales with your level, but reward does not – Nix pays back as much as he did pre-2.0.
The gameplay is fire af. But the rpg mechanics and scaling are like glorified Far cry game.

It’s not the only quest with issues like this. For ex: before you fight Ozob you can up the stakes, but even if you do so you dont get any extra money in fact i dont think you get any money at all

Since 2.0 every skill check even money is scaled to your level but the rewards remain the same. The other quest where you’ll make a net loss is the one with the bootleg BD, when you ask for a refund you’ll get significantly less than what you paid for.
