WB did this with Josstice League. They hid the reviews behind a “Rotten Tomatoes” show, which, as far as I know, nothing like that has been done since.
They know they’ve got something disappointing, they’re trying to take the money and run.

Tomorrow we’ll see more positive reviews and more angry posts..then the next day we’ll see the inevitable “guys there’s a lot of negativity let’s try and be civil” posts and then we’ll go full circle into the game being not that bad but 3 years down through patches and private servers its solid like no man’s sky!

God, I have vastly more fun watching a AAA game going down in flames more than actually playing paint by number, painfully average AAA games pulling all their preorder, microtransaction shit and then needing a day 1 patch.
And it’s free.

I played it during the closed alpha and it was fun.
You are free to not want to buy it for various obvious reasons, but people claiming the game is bad without playing it is getting annoying. It’s crazy how much of a 180 people have on the gameplay when battlepasses are mentioned, even if they have no impact on gameplay and don’t expire and have no FOMO. With the sheer amount of hate the game has gotten I don’t blame them for sending early review copies, where people have already decided “bad game” and ruin their potential sales.
