Does anyone know of a desk monitor mount that that has a clamp that is at least 5”?? Every single one I find will not fit my desk. Thank you

There’s probably one out there but maybe a wall mounted one would better.

Drill a hole through the desk then insert the mount

  3. Can you even sit at a desk like this? 😵‍💫

Clamps are better suited for solid surfaces, so I would be careful clamping something to a hollow construction. Especially the bottom panel won’t be made to withstand much force (probably).

  5. I see a series S, I own one and it’s a beast

You either buy a new 2-3 inch thick tabletop desk to replace your current one or drill holes for the mount on current desk or you can diy your own mounting system with parts from home depot.

They sell ones that are meant install into a hole that you drill into the desk.
The hole’s don’t need to be very wide, I want to say mine’s maybe a half inch wide if that?
The one I have is much more stable than the clamp I had a few years back.

Wall mount, or grind the bottom half of the clamp off and screw it down to the desk using just the top half of mount.

My clamp comes in 2 pieces. I’m 99% sure I can use a piece of wood/metal to extend it.

Some come with kits that you just drill into top of desk if that is something you’d do

  11. Have the same IKEA desk.

I also bought another desk and gave that one to my wife because of this exact issue and your legs hit the bottom of the desk. The drawers are nice tho. Could never find a desk mounted monitor stand.

Everyone saying just drill through it don’t know about the cable compartment in the back stopping you from drilling through it.

Or take a 2×4 and screw it into the back of your desk where the main support is and on the inside do the same thing and screw one to the other. It should provide a enough support for most clamps to hold ur monitor up.

You could try a wall mount if you’re able to put holes in the wall.

I see you OP, sneaking an xbox into PCMR sub. Tut tut.

They make some moniter mounts that have a large base that sits on the desk

Screw a block of wood to the back of your desk for the clamp to use

The vivo monitor my office provided actually came with a stand. Mount them laying down the stand the stand up.

I use a similar vivo stand for my personal monitors with the clamp. Over all it’s more sturdy but the stand works really well once I found the most comfortable position.

  18. I had this desk and was able to mount my mic IN the hole meant for cable management. It worked in the short, but quickly got annoyed with feeling cramped and ended up with a different desk

My mount just sits on the desk and it’s very stable, even with 4 monitors

Had a similar situation, I cut a hole in the back panel where the drawer is and put the clamp on the top plank

  21. My son has that exact desk – the top half of the clamp (where the pole mounts) had three holes that screwed to the bottom half of the clamp. Unscrewed those, and used three 3” cabinet screws in the back of the desk through the holes. It’s rock solid, holds a 27” horizontal and a 24” vertical.

OP, try a desk that is a single slab across the top. Your legs will scream at you to get rid of your current “desk”. It looks more like some sort of vanity or something. Not intended for pc use.

  23. Are you willing to drill, baby, drill? If you’re not, fear not; Harbor Freight sells 8″ C-clamps. Clamp or bolt your monitor mount to a piece of wood. Now get your fine pair of Chinese-made Clamps and lock it down.

I can send pics, I’ve used this method many times in the past.

I have the same Ikea desk. I just drilled a hole.

My desk is the same style and I’ve accepted that I’ll either wall mount or drill into the desk top

Had this same desk when I was renting a room a few years ago.

Unfortunately there are no mounts with a clamp that big and I looked for a long time.
