I was going to put the panel back on, as I’d finished with the GPU upgrade and–…it slipped.

Now, this while not orginal(obviously) is more rare. Typically it is just a side panel meets ceramic.

I would assume there was even a chance of survival if not for the desk.

Does anybody have any pointers for how I can keep it clean and static free while I get a new panel? I have cats…

How old do you have to be to read this title and immediately think “Penthouse Letters to the editor”?🤣

Well this is completely different, you dropped the thing. Typically somebody just lays it on tile and then is shocked when it shatters. Not saying it doesn’t suck but gravity always wins, no shame.

I don’t even use my front panel and have no dust issues inside the case, just the fan filters, but I have more intake fans than exhaust. I’m not an engineer, but I’m pretty sure 99% of the air in my PC is pulled through the fans and filters then just flows out the front.

    Oh wow.

Not a tile issue. This is actually impressive.

Shoutout Asus for using acrylic instead of glass lol

  8. That sucks, but is the future funk deskmat ok?!?!?

Happened to me all I did was ask Amazon for replacement, and got it.

If only this problem of shattering side panels could be solved…by making the side panels out of metal? This is why I am still using my 10~yr old NZXT H630 case NO WINDOWS… it is bigger and heavier than I’d prefer but I won’t have a glass side panel if I can help it. Note that this thing has an optical drive because I have no earthly idea were the cover plate for that top slot went… however every now and then I buy a cd you can’t find on streaming and it is sort of handy to be able to get all old school and rip the CD.

Just think you have an excuse to get a nice new case!

Sets PC precariously on the edge of desk from where it normally sits on the floor under the desk. Tries to install piece of glass and it slips. Glass breaks.

    RIP. Sorry for your loss.

Hopefully you learned your lesson and next time you will leave your case on the floor or put it in a position to where if the side panel of glass falls, it only needs to fall 1 or 2 inches, not 3 feet.

i always use plastic or metal cases

The one thing I notice about all these photos is that it’s never on carpet

  15. Sad_Walrus_1739

Then you said. “Instead of being sad and not clean it. I should post it on reddit first”

  17. Bloodmksthegrassgrow

Why would you fix your computer on such tiny space? you should have used the kitchen table or the floor.

  20. 2Mark2Manic

So, there’s a lot of these tempered glass fails and I have to ask.

Is there a significant benefit to having a tempered glass side panel? Because it seems to me you could just pop some acrylic in there and call it a day.

  21. Neppy5000

This sub has made me question whether I even want a glass side panel anymore
