Im surprises the initial design was like that,just from a glance it’d be showing points of failure for that lower left corner

Lots of 40 series cards have cracking issues, not just gigabyte, and many of those have PCBs similar to the new one you have pictured. I doubt this will prevent the PCB from cracking. Still the best bet to vertically mount these chungus cards.
