When You’re Forced To Deal With Level 1 Tech Support

  1. “Oh my god, YES, I’ve checked that it’s plugged in”

    *2 hours later*

“Ok so I’m seeing a cord in the back that’s not plugged into the wall, does that need to be plugged in?”

Or, actual example from my early career: “Yes, I’ve tried to sign into my phone like 50 times, it’s broken, I absolutely need IT support”

*My colleague and I drive 3 hours one way to reach this remote office*

*Walk inside and look at phone, sitting there not signed in. Punch in the handful of buttons + the employees phone ID to sign them in successfully*

*Get back in the car for the 3 hour drive home*

The people who insist that they’re too smart to do basic troubleshooting are 100% the ones who should never be believed.

    “I’m the one who knocks”

My wife and I just recently watched that series, late to the game but wow, what a great show.

Most issues we find on this sub are level 1 issues.

Sir, we have a code PEBKAC

The worst and best are Linux users. You get two types – The type that find the issue and let you know what they found and how they fixed it, and the type who’s issue is they don’t even know how to use Linux.
