I can’t remember was it Ubisoft or EA CEO that said, “I wish we could charge for every single bullet fired in our games” Or some shit like that lol. It was either UbiSHAT or EA.

There was someone trying to defend Ubisoft, pointing out that quote was taken out of context, that they had “good” intentions. Tell me, as you go through the cesspool (DRM, predatory monetization, anti grind drop rates, cash shops, ads etc) that surrounds you, do you believe Ubisoft cares about choices? They used Epic’s third party exclusivity to redirect players to their shit launcher because they, not only got free cash, but they *knew* players would avoid Epic. On Steam they also bake in their launcher. They were also one of first companies cashing in on Stadia, a service that signed exclusivity deals (no local Steam release). They made their games exclusive on their shitty launcher or EGS, but not on good stores like GOG and Steam. They are adverseries of choice and healthy gaming medium. Please don’t trust them and their word.
P.S They were also one of pioneers of always online singleplayer games.
